  57. In 2000, I was a new guy on an Apilia 250 and all I wanted to do was beat Clarkie. He was the man on one of those bikes, but was always still willing to help me out in my quest to beat him. Just one of those guys with a great attitude about racing and the people racing with him. From that time on, we have always been great friends, whenever I would run into him at some track. Get well soon buddy….

  72. Aaron,
Really sorry to hear of your crash. You might recall that we met somewhat famously on the front straight at Miller, Utah SBA round 6 MoM GTU. I’m hopeful we’ll get a chance to race together next season, maybe I can stay with you long enough to learn a thing or two. Best wishes on a speedy and complete recovery. Sounds like that may take some time, but just like racing, the healing will go faster if you give it everything you’ve got.

  79. Aaron you are the most incredible nephew anyone can have. Your zest for life scares the living daylights out of me. You will fight this with the total love and devotion of Tedi and Scott helping you all the way (what an incredible pair). Reading all the best wishes on this website shows what an incredible bunch of friends you have – all of which you deserve. You have obviously earned a great deal of respect in the USA which I am sure your Mum, Dad and Megan must be very proud of. We thank Ray for his constant phone calls keeping us up with your progress. Your recovery will take time Aaron but the Kiwi contingent is confident you will beat this. All our love Sue & Rob

  91. Best wishes for Aaron and his family at this time. Praying for his complete recovery from this incident. A well respected competitor as well as a genuine kind friend. May your recovery come as quickly as your talents.

  92. Aaron, my heart sank and I was overwhelmed with sadness to hear that such an incredible rider, and much more importantly, and incredible person, was hurt so badly doing what we all love so much. Aaron, you are in my thoughts and prayers constantly throughout everyday. Tedi and Scott, you guys are truly amazing people and you all have my utmost respect and love. Your kindness and hospitalitly are world class. If there is ever anything I can do to support you, please don’t hesitate to ask. Aaron, I can’t wait for the next time we talk, I know it will be soon. I have never met a more fierce fighter, not just on the track but off.

  93. I have never met you before Aaron but, hearing people that I know who have raced with you makes me think very highly of you. My prayers are with you and your family during this challenging time. Hearing some of your stories makes me deeply believe that you can pull through this.

  94. Hey Clarkie,
Just wanted you to know that I was thinking of you a lot. It always makes me smile when I think back to those crazy Aprilia Cup days. That was almost ten years ago, wow, how time flies. You have always been a great friend and help to me.
    Thanks,
    Josh Bryan

  95. We don’t know each other personally per se, I have volunteered for the UtahSBA at MoM several rounds this year, to help organize the grids. I have watched you line up on pole many a time, and I have not seen a guy at Miller wring everything out of a bike so consistently ever before. We all need you to get better so we have someone to watch and admire, and aspire to be more like. I am glad you had friends around to help you out at the track and give you the chance to come back and ride again. Please, please get better.

  96. It’s no fun to line up for a race when everyone isn’t there! Clarkie, it was always a pleasure to send my Ducs out there to run with you at Loudon. Get well quick and see you at the track soon!

  97. Aaron,
My prayers are with you man..

  98. Aaron,
I know of you from our mutual friends and all your impressive accomplishments. I have never met you face to face YET but I am looking forward to doing that and you showing me the fast way around Miller and other tracks.

Get well soon so you can get back to everyone. Take care Aaron!!

    -Craig Mason

  99. Hey Clarkie,

I have never met you but have always followed your progress in the MRA. I too rode in the MRA, #654 and also worked corners. So, watching you come around those turns with absolute precision always took my breath away… I hope you heal up fast buddy, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

    Sincerely,
    John Garcia (Denver, CO.)

  100. CLARKIE! What’s up brother man? You need to get yourself all fixed up so you can get down here to the warm Southwest. ;-)

You’re in our thoughts… constantly. Get well.

    Love, Patrick and Stacy

PS – Scott and Tedi, stay strong. We’re thinking about y’all too. We’re here if you need anything.

  101. I’ve been out of town all weekend and just got back. Man, what terrible news to come back to. My thoughts are with you and your family Clarkie. Godspeed Aaron.

  102. Clarkie,

Even though I know that you are aware that I have been there everyday/night, but I thought that I would give you something to read maybe.

It has been great getting to know both you and Teddi over the last 3 years, racing both the MRA and MoM series. We have done a lot of traveling, and riding together over those 3 years…. what somewhere around 300 days total? And you have been nothing but a helpful, good friend the entire time. You have tought me a lot, and I admire your skills, talents, and true character!!

You’re one tough cookie, so I know that you will fly right thru this little Chicane that has been thrown in your life, but just know that I am with you the entire way thru!!!

    See you tonight Peaches!……..

    ~Brownie, #277

  103. Hey Clarkie,

It’s awesome to hear the latest update! I just wanted to post another message to let you know that I’m still thinking about you and sending you so much healing energy. Focus on the positive and getting better! :)

Remember last winter when T and I went out with you, Scott, and Thor and we had to push T’s car out of the snow? I was looking forward to more shenanigans with you and Scott this winter. I guess I’ll just have to visit Colorado for it! I hope my BMW will be as capable as Tedi’s was! You know, if you wanted to start a tradition of alternating between Salt Lake and Denver each winter, all you had to do was *tell* me – you didn’t have to force the issue. ;-)

In all seriousness, it’s great to hear that you are improving. I know that Tedi and Scott are making sure you get great care. Everyone at MMP is pulling for you. We all love you and you are our champion. We don’t care that you live in CO – we consider you a dual citizen between Colorado and Utah. :)

OK, that’s enough smilies in this post. Like Kelly said, we’re looking forward to hearing your Kiwi accent here in SLC again soon.

    Hugs!
    Jen

  104. Dude, we are missing you a lot right now….please get better, and let’s go ride those dirt bikes like we said we would eh? I know you are a soft Kiwi and all, but I think you have done pretty dame well with this one you tough bastard.

Get better Aaron. All of us in the Hendry family, my mom, dad, brother and my girlfriend wish you the best and send all of our love.

    B-Rad.

  105. Hey Clarkie, I was so sad to learn of you crash. Davina and I hope the best for you. Hang on you are a great guy and very gifted rider. I hope you can bounce back from this and get well soon.

  106. Everyone here at Rocky Mountain Kawasaki is praying for you.
    Hang in there, Aaron

  107. Clarkie!

The news of your crash was so surreal after I’d just seen you the other day. I’m so happy to hear that you’re pushing through this and healing yourself. Don’t forget how many of us are out there praying for your speedy recovery to get you back on your feet and smiling! Get well soon, Aaron!

    Love,

    Love ya, Donna
    & Stan

  109. Hey Clarkie,

I’ve not been racing much this season and so haven’t been able to hang out with you as often as I’d like. You’ve always been a great and generous friend, from racing and sponsor advice, to letting me borrow tools trackside, and driving my bike up to Fort Collins after mapping it. And how many people can say they’ve been loaned the #1 plate holder’s GSXR100 shock for their SV650? :D

There’s been so many times this summer that I’ve thought of you and meant to text or call, but never got around to it for whatever reason. Know that Lynn, Jack and I are sending you our best thoughts for a speedy recovery.

    Big Al

  110. Hang in there Clarkie, hope you recover fast!

  111. Hi Aaron -

I was so very sorry to hear about your crash, but I know that your determination and competitive spirit, and even more importantly, the healing power of the love of your family and friends, will lead you to yet another victory – this time over any injuries or pain.

You and your family are continually in our prayers. I look forward to seeing you soon.

    Wishing you healing and comfort,
    Brian Whipple

  112. It’s so good to hear that your doing better! There are a lot of racers out there you dont even know (like me) that look up to you and admire you. Your an inspiration to us all Clarkie, get well soon!!

  113. Aaron, Jodie York emailed me an article in Cycle News about your accident. I want you to know that you are in my thoughts.
Even though I have not met your wife, I want her to know that she is in my thoughts as well.
I am deeply touched by all the people who have signed your guestbook. You have an amazing network of friends, as well as family.
By knowing this, I know you will have the best care in and out of the hospital.
I hope and pray for a speedy recovery.
    Jamie (Burton) Mehren

  114. Clarkie, you don’t know me either, unless you remember everyone you’ve lapped at firebird in phx :) Anyway.. keep your mind strong, think/visualize of being back on the bike, racing in perfect condition, and it will come to pass. Have no doubts in your mind about returning to perfect working order.

I look forward to getting lapped by you again!

    Peace, Love and Light

  125. Hey Aaron, Hey buddy i don’t know but i praying for you and your family! You guys must remember ther is nothing the Lord can’t handle and it is his will not our’s. So ask him for strength and mercy on your life, just as i have done for you.

  126. Aaron,
Hang in there buddy. Your race buddies here in Sun Valley are pulling for you every day. Looking forward to seeing you kick butt once again. Every day is a new challenge we know you can handle. Kiwi’s rule.
    Garth

  127. hope u get better soon clarkie!!

  128. Aaron,
This is chuck, I helped Josh with his bike in the Aprilia cup series in 2000, I have to say my friend those were some of the most fun times in my life, and as old as I am now that is saying something!! You are one of the toughest guys I know so hang in there and beat this. I wish all the best for you and your family, take care and get well, chuck.

  129. Dude…
Its taken me 5 days to be able to get my thoughts together in some sort of coherent fashion to post to you. You have been in my thoughts since I heard the news Friday night. The Beer Fridge, you know all too well, got me thru the first night, but come morning I was reminded of a reality that has stifled me since. It pains me to see my friend all wadded up.

You know all to well that I deal with life in humor and humility. I remeber when we meet and it was freindship instantly. I felt like I have know you since childhood. I atributed that to the fact we a lot a like; both grumpy types who didn’t care what anyone thinks about us…because “that’s how we ride”…clearly judging by all the posts here you have them all fooled…joking aside, it is heart warming to see the massive amounts of people you have touched.

So many people need you back! Tedi & Scott need thier husband and friend back. The race community needs you back. I have witnessed this in our pit every weekend…who will tell them what knobs & screws to turn and what maps to run.

I need you back. Without you who will I pit with? After 3 years of pitting with you, I still have no idea what to set my tire pressures at…I need you there to tell me. Without you I’ll have Scott picking solely on me about my dirt race bikes. Without you I am not sure what I’ll do when I put shop towels where there not suppose to be!! And most important I need you back to make me lol with your text messages.

So buddy…you really need to stop F*%#ing around and get better!!! I know your stubborness and drive will pull you through this. I love man and my thoughts are with you…See you soon!!!

  130. Clarkie, Hang in there! Wish I could be there with you asking all my dumb questions. I know! You are probably sick of all my questions by now…. But you are always there to listen to me and I truly appreciate that. Anyways, I can’t stop thinking about you. Stay strong! I will come visit you soon!

  131. Hey Aaron,
Hang in there man we know your a fighter and will win the race, just sorry to see you down. Scott, Tedi and family, hang in there because I know Aaron will be back to his old self before you know it. I look forward to coming for a visit once he wakes up and sharing a few laughs. My donation will be on it’s way before long. you guys just rest assured that we all love you guys and our hearts go out for you during this difficult time.
    All the best always,
    Jon G #94

  132. Hey there

I’m Aaron’s sister, Megan, and I just thought I’d say hi. I’ve just finished the Clarkie Night Shift and we’ve had a good night. He’s now been exactly 24 hours breathing unassisted by the ventilator – go Aaron! That’s the fighting spirit of my little bro, that’s for sure.

I’d like to take the cahnce to say a huge thank you from me and my parents, who are both here as well (and about to check to Clarkie Day Shift).

We have been totally overwhelmed by the love, support and kindness from his many beautiful and caring friends here in the US. Unfortunately with living on the other side of the globe we don’t get to meet a lot of the people who have come into his life, apart from the AMAZING Tedi and Scott (sorry Scooter, I couldn’t resist using your favourite new word).

Since we arrived on Sunday night we have met the most incredible bunch of people and I realise how lucky Aaron is to have such a cool group of friends. Brownie, Josh, Glenn, Shannon, Seagren, Kristy and Dave – you guys are very special not only to Aaron but now to the Kiwi Clark’s as well.

Thanks as well to our family and friends in NZ and Australia for your messages on this site and your constant texts – they really are keeping us going at the moment.

Clarkie Night Shift, over and out. Chat soon.

  134. Aaron,
Heard from Thor about what happened to you on Friday. We’ve only meet a few times at Miller when you’ve been hanging out with Thor and Holly in the garage but I’ve enjoyed getting to know you and Teri. Brie and I are pulling for you and know that we’ll see you back in the pits next Spring. Hang in there!

    Geoff

  135. Aaron, Tedi & Scott,
Thinking of you here in NH and keeping you in our prayers. Haven’t e-mailed in a while, but you’re usually right there when I fire up the RSV.

Crikey. I’m beginning to think this is a ploy to throw the young up & coming competition off course so you can come back stronger. (Or you just like hospital food!) Total yourself out riding a dirt bike & proceed to take a National title. Snap your back and win multiples in LRRS, MoM & MRA. Rack yourself into a wall . . . the competition better watch out next year!

Dig deep man. Get well and come back stronger than before!

    David

  136. Clarkie,

I haven’t seen you since you left NH but I’ve been following your racing. Get better soon and keep fighting. I’ll be checking back here for more good news each day.

  137. Aaron, Tedi and Scott – you define racing and the racing community. As such, Aaron, I know your going to win this one, and as we have already seen, Tedi and Scott will lead the rest of us in supporting you all the way.

  138. Dude.

Not only are you our sock-n-sandle fashion icon, but you are my drunken-nighttime pueblo aerial-bombing radio-controlled co-pilot.

    Clarkie is my copilot

I know you can hear us when we talk to you. We didn’t really paint your supermoto bike pink. Yet.

(I can’t promise you we won’t do it if you don’t come back to us soon though!)

  139. Get well. Good luck. Ben.

  140. Aaron,
Sorry to hear of your mishap. The racing and motorcycling community here in the NorthWest is pulling for you.
Heal up quick. Lots of support for you!!
    AllBest,
    Jed

  141. Hey Aaron

Jodie Glennan here (Brads little sister) from Down Under, I know we haven’t seen you since 2001 when Brad came over to help you out during the summer for those few weeks driving that big rig all around the country but I know that Dad still emails you sometimes and I just wanted to add my best wishes to you, I am sure you will back racing really soon.

    Cheers

    Jodie

  147. Hey there

Megan, Aaron’s big sis here. Well, Team Clarkie Night Watch about to sign off. Lil Bro has had a pretty good night…he is quite rested, his breathing is GREAT and I think he may even be starting to look very annoyed about having those massive tubes in his mouth. And for those who know him well, you’ll know that annoyed is a good thing!

We have a big day today as they are going to try removing the tubes this morning and see if he manages that ok. This is a huge step so please all cross your fingers, toes and anything else that you can cross for our guy.

Yesterday I got to meet Kelly who has done so much for us in arranging the fundraising auction and drove here 9 hours from Utah. Kelly – we are so grateful for your drive and determination in making this happen so THANK YOU.

Thanks also to family and friends in New Zealand who have been in constant touch with such heartwarming messages and to Ingrid for the call from London last night. When he woke up this morning I passed all the individual messages on.

That’s all from me today. Chat tomorrow.

    Megan

  148. Megan, John & Mom:

Ned told me of Aaron’s accident and I want you all to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all. He has a wonderful family that loves him dearly and that alone will certainly make for a speedy recovery! If there is anything we can do to help, do know that you have friends in Texas.

    Love,

    Bryan, Carol and Jake XXOO

  149. Aaron, you are an inspiration to all of us. My best wishes to you and your family, hope to see you back on the track soon!

  150. Hi guys. Just wanted you to know my thoughts are with you every day. When Jeff told me what happened I couldn’t believe it, but he tells me he has been there every night and that your progress is good. Your a tough bastard though so I know you will be fine.
    Miss you guys,
    Shannon

  151. Sue here – Aaron’s aunt in New Zealand. I would really like to give a big Hi 5 to the organisers and operators of this website. I have the page open all day at work and soon as I get home. I get soppy eyes when I read some of the comments and accolades. I especially like the map that shows what part of the world everyone is logging in from. Pretty incredible to see how far Aaron has managed to spread himself. Aaron – you are an incredible guy and that’s not just because you are my nephew. Tedi – I can’t begin to imagine what you are going through but please feel a tiny bit comforted in the fact that every minute of the day you and Aaron are in our thoughts. I will be keeping my fingers crossed that Aaron sleeps well without the tube tonight. Keep fighting Aaron. We all have faith in you!!

    All our love

Sue & Rob, Deb, Frazer & Hayden

  157. Fight, god dammit!

  158. Hey there

As you will have gathered from Alex’s updates, our guy had a pretty rough day yesterday. As per Scott’s messages, Aaron struggled to breathe without the tubes due to swelling and constriction so they had to insert the tubes again after a few hours. It was pretty traumatic for him and with taking the tubes out and then putting them in again it was very painful so he is now back fully sedated so that he can recover.

He is also unfortunately back on the ventilator so that he doesn’t have to spend so much energy breathing on his own. It is also there as a safety precaution. Once he has recovered from yesterday we are confident that he will be strong enough again to take the ventilator off – just not sure when that will be.

The plan for tomorrow is that they are going to give him a tracheotomy. This will be a small insertion so that the tubes can then go in that way and free up his mouth and it will be so much more comfortable for him.

At this stage his pelvic operation is still scheduled for Monday.

Thanks again for all the support from you all out there. Keep the messages rolling in as they mean so much to Tedi, Scott and the Clark family.

Tedi and Scott are incredible, although they are even more exhausted after a drive through the night to Longmont to get some things and back again for the tube removal this morning. Send them all your positive energy as they really need it.

Tedi and Scott – a little note from me for you guys as I won’t see you til tomorrow night. The silver lining on this big black cloud is that it has been wonderful to get to know you both better, despite the reason for being here. I am honoured to have such incredible people like the two of you as part of my family. I understand with full clarity the love he has for you both.

As we say in New Zealand Maori “Kia Kaha” – Be Strong

    Meg

  159. Aaron – Keep fighting – we in Georgia are all pulling for you and sending energy your way.

Tedi, Scott and family – Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Keep strong, but remember that you can share the burden, we will all help.

    Helen and Ron

  160. Aaron,

    ~Jen

  171. Aaron,
You have been great to watch this year. This is my first year racing. You are a great person and even better rider. You’re an inspiration to those of us that are just getting into the sport. I always looked forward to the RORo race to see you post yet another win. The thing that makes you who you are is you attitude. I have never met a champion that was not arrogant until you. That shows your professionalism.
I look forward to seeing you kick butt next year and many after. Thanks for inspiring me to keep with the sport.
Hang in bro and stay tough.

  172. Hi There,

  175. Aaron, Megan, Rae and family,

I met you all in my past life married to Danny Clark. My thoughts are with you, now and in the weeks and months to come. I spent 5 days at my stepson’s bedside in a neuro ward last year so understand the enormous amount of stress you’ll all be under. The human body is amazing though and I’m sure Aaron’s a fighter. If all the blogs I’ve read are anything to go by, the thoughts and wishes from so many fans to an exeptional nice guy, down to earth, humble kiwi will pull him through.

Take care of yourselves to stay strong for Aaron.
Best wishes from the Far North of NZ
    Catherine

  176. Aaron,
Hope you get to read this soon.
We are upset to learn that your race wheels have stopped for now and that the body has been slowed until it heals.
The great news is that you are recovering and have your family there to support you, plus all the frieds that you and Teddi have made over the years.
Really miss the times we had together in Oz, and am sending personal get better soon wishes. Sounds as if you will have plenty of time to figure out how to repair that bike when you get home again!
    Know that we care.
    Glen and Noelene.

  177. Hi Aaron, JC and Megan

We wish Aaron a speedy recovery.
Hope to meet you in New Zealand after all the photos, stories etc Barrie and Debbie

  178. Man, I hope and pray for a speedy recovery. Get well soon Clarkie!

  179. Hi All,
Sorry to hear the news, it came as a bit of a shock – but she’ll be right… Aaron you’re a tough bugger and made of good Northland stock, which will see you through! Our thoughts are with you all. Best wishes Colin Wickman & family xxx

  180. Aaron I know that you will fully recover from this and can’t wait for that to happen because the world is just a much better place with you in it. There are not many people that I connect with and you are one of them. You have become such a great friend and I can’t wait to see you.

Scott and Tedi, you two are a gem and I hate to think about how hard this must be for you. All three of you are such great people and soon it will be the three of you together again. My prayers go out to Aaron’s fast recovery and for you two to get through this the best you can.

    Ray

  181. I always loved this photo of Scott and Aaron from Firebird….You have to wonder what Aaron is saying to Scotty that is making him laugh so hard! :) Well a lot of it is about Aaron duct taping the transponder on the back of his bike (which CCS/SW doesn’t want people doing)….and then Scott throwing him under the Bus at the riders meeting by letting everyone know it was Aaron who did it…If I remember correctly Aaron threatened to bury Scott in a snowbank somewhere in Colorado…The entire riders meeting was laughing!

  182. We love you Clarkie, our best wishes go out to you, your a tough kiwi… You guys have a lot of support from us and people you’ve helped and inspired along the way.

  183. Aaron, we all miss you very much back at rocky mountain kawasaki! my thoughts are with you every day. Please come back to us. If i could will you the strength to do so i would, I know i’m trying!
    lee waldman

  184. I’m expecting to see a speedy recovery, Clarkie!! I look forward to you & Scottie talking S*** on the track again at Firebird……just keep calling him out on having traction control!! “CHEATER!!! He’s a cheater!!” Lots of love to you, Tedi, & (of course) my Scottie, from AZ.

  185. Hi,
I’m Raye (spelt with a ‘y’) and I’m Aaron’s mom (as we say in America)
I wondered if I might use this space now that I can breathe slightly, to thank some people that I have no way of contacting right now.
Firstly to Alex, whom we have not met yet, for setting up this wonderful site.I can’t wait for Aaron to wake up enough to read all the wonderful caring and funny messages on this blog. I know he will be as overwhelmed as we are.I must log on at least 6 times a day during my time in the waiting lounge – in between pacing the corridors and watching endless re-runs of ‘Everybody loves Raymond’.
A huge thanks to Kelly for setting up the on-line auction and for all those who have donated to it. You are all so generous.
Thanks to my sisters Marg & Sue and my dear friends Dale and Jackie, who are in daily contact with Ray. My nephews Frazer & Hayden, my nieces Debbie, Karen & Michelle, and my beautiful God-daughter Ginny, way down in Queenstown.
Danny – my 3rd child growing up on the farm,Cindy – thanks little one. Megan’s friend Susie, always part of our family, and Colin – ,every mother’s dream,.
Lesley and Murray and all the Donnelley family at the Parua Bay Tavern. Look after Ray, and put a wine in the fridge for me.
Catherine, Danny’s former wife. Many thanks, I remember you well.
To all the Dawson family also.
John and his family – these are trying times, but we are getting through it.
All my friends back home – you have been so supportive and it means so much.I’ll never again read of other families in this situation, and underestimate the power of this love and support.
About now I need to thank Aaron’s amazing racing family here in Colorado, who have come in night after night whether they can get to see Aaron or not. I can honestly say I’ve never been surrounded
by so many loving and caring people. I know now why Aaron doesn’t want to come home. It almost makes me want to move here myself – just kidding Aaron.
Glen and Josh. There are no words that are adequate to say to you.Without you 2 guys we would be sitting here with a totally different scenario which doesn’t bear thinking about. You both know how we feel. It’s too deep to put into words, except to say that we are indebted to you forever for Aaron’s life.
Brownie – you just crack me up. You should be on the stage.
    My gorgeous Tedi and Scott.
Tedi has cried bucketloads, but her inner strength and her deep love for my beautiful boy is an inspiration for me. We are on the day shift together, and sometimes look at each other and wonder how many tears a body can keep churning out.She keeps me going when times get tough – we have some laughs, and it’s been a privilege to get to know my daughter-in-law better. Aaron , you chose well. Couldn’t have picked a better one if I tried.
Scott. What a rock. He picks Tedi up and puts her back on her feet, while all the time he’s watching his best buddy struggling for life. He must be hurting so badly, but he just keeps going forward, getting things done, thinking with such clarity, and standing tall when all others around him are crumbling – such strength. And in his spare time he cracks us up with his life stories.
Ned, my angel. You are suffering so much being apart from you beautiful Megan, but you are clearly her strength.
For the upgrades to business class, we can’t thank you enough. We got on the plane in Auckland as wrecks, and arrived in San Franscisco as almost human again. Thank you so much for your generosity.
    My beautiful Megan.
Beautiful in body and soul, who sits here night after night on her own checking on her little brother. She gathers all the threads together and makes us better people. He love for her little bro is boundless and I am humbled by her on a daily basis.
last, but definitely not least, my darling Ray.Staying back, keeping the home fires burning (hope not, we have a cafe). Lifting my spirits with his dreadful black humour, keeping people updated running the cafe (please honey don’t hit the customers), and building fences as well -what a man! I draw daily on your strength
This is such a release to be able to do this, and to thank you all I hope I haven’t taken up to much space.
    Finally – my boy.
I’ve watched you struggle and fight with such courage. You always were a little scrapper, but usually with your acid wit, not your body. Keep fighting little man, Kia Kaha.

  186. Arron,
We have just heard today of your accident. Our thoughts are with you and your family. Even though we have not spoken in years we think of you often and have visited your website on occation to see what you were up too.
    Get well soon mate.

Just heard about this site from JC(Dad) yesterday. What a fantastic tribute and testimont to and from your friends and family. We think of you daily and pray for your safe recovery. It doesn’t seem that long ago that you were flying around on a farmbike in Maromaku. Chris, Dayle and Tracey also send their love and support. Kia Kaha.

  190. This is Aaron’s other Kiwi Aunt! We have just returned from a week’s holiday
and are now online again, so we can keep up to date with Aaron’s progress.

Aaron, Alan and Simon and I are thinking of you all the time and send our love
to you in the hope that it will help you get better quicker! Tedi and Scott -
our thoughts are with you too. We have never met but have heard a lot about you
and know how important you are to Aaron.

Raye, Megs, and John – hang in there you guys. Just being there will be a
great help to Aaron and Tedi and Scott – we just wish we could be there to
support you. But Ray is being a wonderful wonderful support to us, and is
keeping us up to date with all progress.

Aaron- there is now a small group of golfers from around the North Island who
are following your progress and send their best wishes. Different sport, but
    same sense of dedication!

Hang in there, sweet nephew. We love you dearly.

Love from Marg and Alan and Simon – and Michele and Karen send their love as
    well.

  191. Hey Aaron

Did you ever imagine that you would be front age news on the Northern Advocate? (A life long ambition I am sure, he he). What a crazy world we live in when you make the front page of the local paper after such a shocking accident, instead of for all the amazing achievements you have had over the years. And that it is the first time in over ten years you hear from old school friends. Words don’t do justice to the emotions everyone must be feeling right now, however reading all the messages here I can see that you have some pretty amazing friends over there. Hope you recover quickly as knowing how you were, and most likely still are, you will want to be up and about as soon as you can. Take care, get better soon and maybe we will see you one day when you are next back in Whangarei. Thinking of you, Arwen.

  192. Hi: my name is sharon jensen, I am tedi and sccott’s mother, we have been reading all of the messages, that have been put up on the web site, a lot of very inspiring messages have been written.

we have known Aaron since 2000, I think, in that tiome frame, when tedi started bring him out to our house. He is a great guy, he has taken care of our daughter, he tries to keep her on the straight and narrow.

Last year they were at our house for christmas, and he called his mother to wish her a merry christmas and he was telling her, that they were outside playing in the snow, with the cold temperatures and she couldn’t believe we were out in it and not freezing to death.

so we have a lot of fun in the winter here in minnesota.

Another time scott, tedi and aaron were on big detroit lake in the winter, with our chevrolet van during wheelee on the frozen lake, and aaron was freaky out.

so we like him, he is a great guy, scott introduced them, we have been praying for him, he is a fighter and I have been telling him to keep on fighting.

I got a little carried away, so I will let someone talk.

    Dave and sharon

  193. Hang in there Aaron. You can beat this!

    Get well soon,

    Shawn Conrad

  194. Special message to Raye (my old flat mate), John (my old school mate) and Megan:

Back here in NZ there are many of your friends and neighbours hoping and praying for you and your boy. Thank you for keeping us up to date with this website and the newspaper articles.

Reading about Aaron brings back memories of Maromaku times – Calf Club, rugby/netball days, cross country, swimming – fun, happy times that our kids will remember forever. May good memories sustain you through this difficult time.

Please know that you are loved by so many back home.

My prayers are for Aaron to make a full recovery and for courage and faith for all his family. Extra hug and kisses for Raye – a true friend from yesteryear – Mum’s are so special!

    Love Gloria

  198. Although just a few of you know who we are, my wife and I had the privilege of meeting Aaron just a few short months ago. We stumbled onto the racing scene this past summer after meeting Shane Turpin at a Freddie Spencer Racing School.

One of our first weekends out at Miller was watching Aaron on his GSXR1000 and Shane on his expensive…….and underpowered 1098R in a hot race for the #1 plate. Call it a mid life crisis or whatever, I told my wife that I would like to sponsor Shane for the rest of the season…….and next year. She gave me her blessing. (she knew I would do it anyway).

The first thing was a Jordan GSXR1000 for Shane and before we got to the first race, a big bore motor, brakes and a few prayers that he was even going to be there on Sunday. Arron won the race and we where back in the garage changing this and figuring out that.

Even more parts for Shanes bike, the next race was a disaster for Aaron with a DNF putting Shane into the points lead. I know that Shane would have preferred a complete race. The next race was a win for Aaron after a crash by another rider ended the race early although Shane held onto the points lead by 2.

We where at Laguna for the last race of the year hoping for…….. Well lets just say that we ended up learning a lot. 1st and foremost go with “your own” plan and race. We did however have the opportunity to watch Scott Jensen race on Sunday with a ……well lets just say a painful disanvantage after having crashed earlier on. Aaron yelling at him not to race and Scott telling him I have to race.

The last race of the year at Miller was Aaron and Shane at their best with Aaron prevailing and taking the #1 plate. Joy for one and disappointment for the other but still great to watch.

This parts for you Aaron. Within a few hours of the crash, Shane called me with the news. Although the details where not complete one fact was sure. Aaron had hit the outside wall at high speed and it was not good. The “broken parts list” is to much to describe and almost to much to think about. I have logged on several time since and read all of the posts. Scott, keep up with the updates and to Aarons family, stay strong and by his side and hold his hand through this one. It’s the best type of therapy there is. Aaron, you have a lot of friends and admirers. I’m looking forward to the Aaron/Shane battle to resume next year.

God bless from Laurie and I.

  199. Aaron,

All our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We wish you a speedy recovery so you can get back to a normal life as soon as possible.

It is so nice to see all the responses here from the old Aprilia Cup days: Chappo, Dan Fischer, Pandya, Van-man, Derek King, Josh B and Eric Wood. At the very least this should put a smile on your face.

As you can see, you are in every one’s mind from all over the world.

    Our sincere blessings,

    Jay & Genviev
(formaly know as Mototek Aprilia) :)

  203. Hey Clarkie, the other morning while taking Jackson to daycare, out of the blue he asked “Did you go to see Clarkie? Does he still have lots of owwies?” He’s also been telling several people about you, I think you’re his mind frequently. I think he’s pretty in touch for a 3-year old!

You’re in the all out thoughts here, it’s hard to get the words to say, but we think and talk about you a lot. Heal up soon!

    Alex, Lynn, and Jack

    PJ

  209. Aaron,

I just got the word of your accident today and after reading through the pages and pages of messages, I am happy to hear of your strides to recovery. What a lucky guy you are to have the tremendous support of your family and multitude of friends. It seems you continue to inspire people, just as I remember in the early days of the Aprilia Cup. You’re in a different race now but the same grit and determination will help you win again. I, along with all of your friends here, are watching this battle. And we are all hoping and praying for another Clarkie victory. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

    Bill

  216. Our prayers continue for your recovery and good health, Aaron.

Thanks to those who keep this site updated with progress reports, as we check back often!

  217. Hi again,
I just wanted to send you all another message to let you know that you are constantly in my thoughts. I can’t wait to come visit when things have become a bit more stable. It has been so nice to have this website to check in on your progress- and to see all the people that you have met in your life. It is nice to see the Loudon crew post too- brings back memories for us of home :) You have even more people pulling for you than have posted here- We send your progress on to all the people you have met at our house- all the crazy red sox fans that keep you up late on race nights yelling at the TV…we lost last night- I think all our energy was focused on a much more important person in Colorado. Get well Aaron! And use those eyebrows to tell Scott and Tedi- and your family from NZ- to make sure they rest, eat, and care for themselves too- we are all worried about them just as much as you. You have the easy job- You just get to lie there in bed and get sponge baths and nice drugs- they actually have to sit awake and worry!!
If there is anything at all that I can help with please let me know- My love to all of you,
    Holly

  218. Thank you so much for keeping the posts up so consistently, I check it 5 times a day. Clarkie you are in my thoughts and I think good thoughts for you all day long. Tedi, Scott and Aaron’s family – though I haven’t met all of you, I send you my warmest regards and know that Clarkie has the best possible team behind him.
Just wanted to share a story about Aaron and how great he is with you – Tedi knows this one, but for those of you who don’t – Aaron and I knew each other in passing from my first season with the MRA in 2007, so in ‘08 when I began branching out to the AZ and UT series it took me by surprise when Clarkie took the initiative to post nice things about me on the forums when I wrote on the boards to introduce myself. To have someone I didn’t know very well look out for me and try to help my small business grow meant more to me than I can tell you. Not only did he post good things about my business, he supported my efforts by hooking up some friends out in AZ with sports massage when he wasn’t even there.
Clarkie’s the only racer who has traveled this year to all the venues I have, from AZ to UT to CO and NE…and it’s been good to see him and get to know him and Tedi and Scott. I’ll always remember his kindness and generosity and as someone who has never hesitated to put 1000% into everything I do, I look to him as an inspiration.
Thank you so much Aaron; I am wishing you a speedy recovery.

  219. Well I must say I was shocked to read the Northern Advocate here in Whangarei NZ and see that smiley face I remember so well from School. I will keep track of your progress Aaron. Hello there to Megan and Mrs Clark, stay nice and strong for him, and please pass on my regards to his wife.

Lots of Love from NZ, Cheryl

  220. Hi John and Raye.
Just wanted to let you know that we are thinking of you during this very trying time. Hukerenui/Maromaku ites are bred pretty tough, so I’m sure you will all pull through this in time! Take care, and all good wishes and positive vibes are sent your way.
    Cheers, Ennis and Dave Francis.

  221. Hey there… Cousin Karen here again. I’m glad to see the surgery seems to have gone well. I”ve been thinking about you all the whole day…

I haven’t seen Aaron for years, since we were kids really – and so it would be fair to say I don’t really know him at all – just what I remember from when he was terrorising Megan and I…lol…

…what I do know about Aaron though I have learned from this website and I have discovered that he is very loved, very respected and a downright awesome ‘kiwi’ bloke. The very fact that this website was created says enough and reading through the messages and comments makes me want to know him.

Kia kaha Aaron and big hugs to Aunty Raye, Uncle John, Megan and even though I don’t know you either, big hugs to Tedi and Scott. xx

  222. Hey There!!! Good to hear everything went well…. It’s awesome there is such a good group by your side. Great to hear the updates from Mum via Ray. I know it’s been said alot around here but Our thoughts are with you all!! Your all doing a great job. Keep it up Aaron..

  225. hay Aaron, your on the 3rd lap of a 28 lap race. you just got bumped of the track in turn 4 and fell back to 12th position. you grit your teeth and one by one you pick’em off. my money is on you baby!! I,m sure you’re going to need that grit and determination on your road to recovery.
keep on moving forward!!!!! your friend lee

  226. Just wanted to say “YAY” that the surgery went well and Clarkie is resting comfortably.

I check in on this website each day and am so happy to hear of the progress he is making.

    I love the updates!

  227. Hey Aaron, sorry to hear you’ve taken a bit of a knock. Huff sent me a link to the Northern Advocate article – you make front page news for THIS!?! Your rise to Whangarei fame should’ve been for all your achievements over the years on the race track..! Mate, I am sorry we lost touch over the years but I do visit your Mum’s cafe whenever I am home and catch up on your news with her. I am living in Oregon in the good ol’ US and A with wife and three kids. It’s a long way from those old days of Motocross in Whangas and having you take my bike to the track for me as I could not race Sunday mornings for ‘religious’ reasons… Looks like your lifelong generosity on and off the track has won you more than a few friends. Get well soon and our prayers are with you and your wonderful family. I am impressed with the friends you have made over the years – what a great, supportive bunch of people. The Yanks are pretty cool people, I married one and made a few more! God bless, Craig.

  228. Hi to you all I ,m glad to here Arron,s surgery went well.My love and prays for healing are for Aaron and strength and comfort for Tedi ,Scott Raye, John and Megan. I hope all goes well to day. Big hugs to all from new zealand.xxxx oooo

You are in my thought every day, i have put a picture of you in a race as my computer wallpaper. Maybe you willl remember or maybe not, but i always remember you “scolding’ me at Gingerman back in 2001 about trying to ride my Mille like a Motocross bike. That little tip stays with me on the racetrack even now, almost 9 years later.

You are a great man Mr. Clark and everyone is pulling hard for you.

    tom

  241. Aaron & his whole (extended) family are in our thoughts & prayers every day!!! We will continue to hold a vision of him FULLY RECOVERED, & are deeply touched by all that this racing community has done to offer support!!! Much love & healing blessings, Noelle & Rex

Great to hear that you all made it thru the past few days, I have been thinking of you all lots and checking regularly for the updates. I am not sure if you have been reading these messages out to Aaron or not Megan, (or others) but I assume over the weeks to come he will not be able to do much other than listen so figure the odd entry might help pass another long minute or two. Funny some of the memories you get when something like this happens. I keep remembering Aaron and Mark de Latour at yours and Susans 21st Megan, down on their knees singing with all their might, al-be-it after a few drinks. Recording material for sure :-) . Keep fighting, thinking of you loads. cuidate mucho.

Its such a relief to hear you are improving. You’ve got to be about the toughest SOB to have walked the MMP paddock, and that’s got to be paying off in spades now! I try to send positive thoughts your way every day, but with the amazing crew that you’ve got around you out there, you probably don’t need any more help. You’re all heroes in my book, from you Aaron, to Josh, Glen & Shannon, Scott and Tedi, all the Clarks and Jensens, all of you. Keep up the good work and get well soon.

We are all pleased to hear how well Aaron is progressing after his horrific crash. He obviously has a huge fan base in the racing fraternity so with them and his great family he is in great hands. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all.

From all the Campbells at Maromaku

  263. Hey Clarkie!
Big Mike, Cassy, and I celebrate each new hurdle that you cross. We are praying for you and your family and trying to ‘lead the straight life’ to get some bonus points~ I’ve cut back on those ‘greyhounds’ until we can all celebrate together.

Tedi and Scott, you are both such amazing people making everyone one feel that they are a big part in Clarkie’s recovery. You both need to take care of yourselves so that you can also be strong for Clarkie. We all love you guys and will do anything necessary to help. Please ask, all of your friends are waiting for the chance.
    Love to all,
    Big Mike, Chris and Cassy

  264. Hi Raye, Megan and family,
We’re keeping in touch with Ray and every day look forward to reading the updates on Aarons progress. What a little fighter he is. Hes so lucky to have so many people supporting him and sending him good wishes. Thinking of you Raye, we’ve got that bottle of wine in the fridge waiting for you.
Take care and love to you all.

  265. Tedi & Aaron,
Words cannot describe the feeling we had when we heard the news. Know that you both are in our prayers and we’re keeping up on Aaron’s progress through this site Robert told Cathy about. Like all your friends who deeply care, if there is anything at all we can do for you, please don’t ever hesitate to reach out and ask. We are here for you both!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery,
    The Crooks

  266. Aaron,

Scott (Rybo) and I were hoping to make it down to see you today but it was called off because you weren’t up to it. Heal up, feel better, get rest. We will stop in some time when you are getting on a little better. Until then, Judy, Sid, Viv and I are thinking about you a lot, hoping you get better fast.

Tedi and Scott – keep up the good work. We hope to be able to stop by sometime and say hi (even though Tedi has never met me and Scott will only barely recognize me).

  267. Hey guys! Don and I just want to say we are thinking of all of you every single day. We are happy to hear of Aaron’s progress. Thank you, Alex, for making this site available for all of Aaron’s amazing friends and family to keep in touch with what is going on with Aaron. Tedi, if there is anything you need, please don’t hesitate to let us know. Scott, thank you for progress reports. Hang tough, guys.
Lots of love to all of you,
    Crystal & Don

  268. Clarkie,
I hope you you’re doing good. My thoughts are with you and your family.

  269. Aaron, Scott has been terrific about keeping me up to date with changes in your condition and I have been visiting this site a lot. I’ve started to type comments before but had to stop, this time I promised myself I wouldn’t.

Keep fighting, Aaron. You’re a winner and a true champion. I know you have the strength, courage and, let’s face it – orneriness, to get through this. For me, at least, you and I will always be bonded together by the events of that day, and I won’t be whole again until you are. I’m with you in spirit every moment of every day. Keep fighting.

  270. Clarkie, so sorry to hear about your accident. I was thinking about the better times with you at Aprilia the other day. Hope to see you back strong and healthy soon. Hang in there, Tedi. Your friend, Rick.

  271. Aaron,

Our thoughts are with you and we keep our fingers crossed for you on the other side of the pond. Get better soon!!! We would love to read about a speedy recovery back to good health!

Rudolf and everybody else at Smaltmoto, Brno, Czech Republic

  272. Clarkie- Congrats on making it to rehab! Its great to hear that you’re beginning to get stronger again. Keep it up.

And thanks to Megan, Alex and everyone for the updates. The positive ones are the best of course, but keep them coming please.

    Go Clarkie!

  273. Hey Clarkie – So glad to hear you’re improving, as we knew you would! Keep battling, we’re all wishing you continued progress each day. And thanks so much for the updates.

    All the best,
    Brian

  274. Hey Aaron,
Wishing you the best for a speedy recovery. The day I met you way back at VIR in 02′ will always be remembered. Watching you back that Mille into turn one was the highlight of my weekend. You have always answered all of my stupid questions without hesitation and I thank you for that. Hang in there bud and know there are lots of folks thinking about you.

  275. Hi: Tedi,Scooter and Aaron

This mom and Dad, we have been reading all of the up-dates on Aaron, you, Scott have been doing a great job of keeping us informed on Aaron’s progress. Yesterday when I went on the web site, you didn’t have one I was worried, but was hoping it was good news. Of course it was. Aaron has inproved a lot.

Aaron, I which I could be there to give you a big hug and a kiss. we are praying for you and hoping for a speeedy recovery. When we come to see you at christmas.

    Love from Mom and Dad

  276. Aaron,

Below is an excerpt of an email I sent late Thursday Oct 16 to Scott to read to you. I wrote it when I got home that night and saw that you’d had a rough day and had to go back on the ventilator. I hadn’t seen the updates on the site since earlier in the day, when the breathing tube was out and things were going well, so I’d decided while I was out that night to blow off work the next day, hop on my motorcycle and drive out to see you. Then I got home and saw that you’d had a rough afternoon and weren’t going to be taking any visitors until after the weekend, so I emailed the Scott the message I wanted to give you in person.

Now that you’re more lucid and beginning the next stage of your recovery, I’m sending part of the message again to remind you how much we all care about you.

I take back what I said in a comment on this site on the 12th, about the racing community “needing” you — as in need because we are weak. We are not weak. Nor are you. You are strong. And determined. Aaron, we don’t *need* you to complete us. We *WANT* you in our lives because you enrich us. Our lives are better simply because you are in them. Not because of any particular thing you do for us. Just because you’re you.

It’s time to once again show how strong you are, and to once again be an inspiration to others. There are literally thousands of people glued to their computers, checking your status, sending you good thoughts, prayers, and healing energy. You should see all of the comments on all of the forums around the world. Around the WORLD!! Thousands of people whose lives you’ve touched, whose lives you’ve made better – people who WANT you to continue to be in their lives.

Do you have any idea how rare that is? To have thousands of people actively WANTING you to recover (not just passively “hoping” because it’s the nice thing to do) so they can continue to have the pleasure of knowing you? Not many people have the opportunity to touch that many lives. If it were me in that hospital bed, I think I’d be lucky to have 100 people who would care strongly enough to go visit me, set up a website, write all kinds of lovely things, donate stuff to auction off, and give money to help my family with expenses.

That makes me sad, because it makes me realize that I have not been a contribution to very many people. That’s not how I want my life to be. I’m going to find a way to make my life be less about me and more about enriching other people’s lives and being a contribution to them. I want to make enough of a difference in thousands of lives that people would notice if I went missing – and maybe they’d even care enough to do something about it. See, you’ve *already* inspired me with this latest adventure of yours. I’m so grateful to have you in my life and to be able to call you a friend. And I bet I’m not the only one who is inspired by you right now.

Aaron, you are obviously strong and determined to have achieved what you’ve achieved and recovered from your previous injuries. We are all sending you strong, healing energy. I’m pulling it from _everywhere_ and sending it to you. Heal up quickly – collect and use the energy to recover faster than any doctor could possibly even imagine. We are here to support you and help you if you want us to. Whatever you need. Whatever it takes. Because we WANT you in our lives. And because we love you. It’s all going to be OK. Because you say so.

Much love, peace, and light – and loads of healing energy and power! I’ll see you soon.

    Jen

  277. BTW, Happy Halloween and congrats on making it into rehab!!!

    :-)

  278. Happy Halloween.

    See you soon.

  289. i keep checking the site regularly, its great to hear about aarons progress, keep fighting aaron! and thanks for posting all the updates everyday, i think some fighting aaron style decals will be in order when this is all done and your back on your feet!

  290. Clarkie:

My best thought go with you always….You helped me a lot when I was working on my 1st Falco, and with RS 250 GP bike. I really appreciate the time you took to email me info and advise.

Sent a little help your way and hope you are up and back to normal soon.

    Bob

  291. Thanks for the update Tedi. I can’t speak to the exact details of Morgan Broadhead’s brain injury sustained during that WERA race at the end of 2007, but I remember there was a time when he wasn’t allowed visitors (even after being transferred from Florida to Utah for rehab) because he was agitated, confused, and not recognizing people. He’s still here in Salt Lake – I had dinner with him a couple months ago, and he’s back to his old self now. Totally coherent, can drive, etc. It took a while and wasn’t an easy road, but he’s back – it *is* possible. Someone else commented that things work out the way they’re supposed to… Josh, Glenn, and Brownie were able to bring Aaron back for a reason. Keep the faith….

Hugs and kisses for all of you – even the family I haven’t met. :)

    Jen

  292. Hi Aaron,

Today Ive been reading the latest up date on your progress, and it sounds like things are on the mend. As I am not a computer buff, in situations like this they are a wonderful tool for keeping in touch with family and friends and in particular reading your progress reports. I have been passing information on your progress to Aunty Hazel and Uncle Des. We are all thinking about you back here. Keep on fighting and be strong.
from Carolyn (part of the Dawson Clan) :) :)

  293. Hope all is well in the Clark world, sorry to hear of your accident but then again it’ll take more than that to stop a boy from the Bombay’s. Heal fast Clarkie, cheers, kev.

  294. Hey Aaron,

  298. Aaron-(and Scott)

As racers we are always faced with adversity. The highs are high, the lows are low, but somehow, we always get through it to race another day. And, that is why all my friends are racers, we never give up and we always get through it. Aaron, this may be your toughest race yet, but you will get through it because we never give up.

    Ken Hill

  299. GOOOOO CLARKIE!!!!! The lights are on and he is in the fight! It is SOOOO good to hear the news of his progress. I have to believe that once he understands “where he is” he’ll understand “where he needs to go”. For a racer, this is all the information needed to make you want to GET ON IT! Racing is all about overcoming obstacles, it’s about bettering your best. Racing teaches you to value small improvements and to pay attention to the details. Racing teaches you to be patient even as you struggle against your personal limits. Aaron is in the fight and the same characteristics that have made him successful on the track will make him successful in this recovery. GOOOOOO CLARKIE GO!!!!!

  300. Hi Tedi, Scott and Aaron,
We’re you’re new next door neighbors in Loveland and we’ve been following along with both your progress in moving in and here as well. We wish you the very best and are hopeful for your recovery individually and together. If there is anything we can do for you (rake leaves, mow the lawn, collect mail) you have but to ask. Best of luck and keep loving eachother!
    Be well,

  310. Hi Aaron Tedi & Scott – Nephew and his 2 best friends across the water!!! So wonderful to hear you are progressing. We are ecstatic that the Fighting Kiwi spirit is flourishing in you. I am sending 2 flags to you via Megan which we hope will help you push even harder. Let me know what you think. Tedi & Scott – if there was an award for bravery, stamina and dedication it should be split between both of you. Of course there is a very close network of family support which helps but you two are rocks for Aaron and each other. Your Mom and Dad have produced 2 (at least) incredible children. We are so looking forward to meeting you when we are able. Aaron – we all send our love to you and remeber we are thinking of you all the time.

  311. Hi Scott & Tedi,
I know you don’t know me, even though Clarkie worked for us for a short time at Twin Peaks. Just wanted you to know that we’re still praying for you and checking the website a few times a day for updates.
I know that it must seem like for every 2 steps forward you get with Aaron that he goes 1 step back…And that’s exactly what will probably happen for awhile. But it appears he IS making that little forward progress all the time.
By the looks of this website you’ve got too many people to count that are in your corner giving you support from every side.
Hang in there and thank you SO much for all your work on keeping us all updated. This was a fantastic idea to get set up. we’re all thinking of Aaron, but if everyone that wanted to see him came down they’d need traffic control at the hospital! This way we feel like we’re with him each day.
Love & Prayers to you both, Aaron, and the whole family.
    Donna

  312. Get well soon Clarkie.

    rraiderr from GDC.

  313. Checking in again from Oregon. Wishing Clarkie a good recovery.

Some inspiring news. so that while the Glascow Coma rating looks bleak, it’s not over! Not by a long shot!! My friend Mason was hit on the street. When he was admitted into the hospital, after they stabilized him, they rated his Glasgow Coma scale at a 2 or 3. After 59 days in a coma, and three months in a care facility, 5 months to the day after he was hit, he stood in the standing frame for 2 and 1/2 minutes on his own!! He was moved to another facility (RIO unit in Portland, OR) and is doing even better with the intensive physical, psychological, speech and cognitive rehab.

To come from GCS of 3, to where he is now, should definitely show that strong people with lots of love and care around them can show amazing results.

Fight on Clarkie, and heal up!!
    Jed

  314. Godspeed Clarkie.
May you have a swift recovery.

    Tank34 from GDC.

  315. Hey Clarkie,

  317. Dear Aaron & Tedi (and of course, Scott),

Our prayers are with you all for a speedy recovery for Aaron & a safe trip for Scott — and strength for Tedi in looking after both boys! We have our little man, Matt, praying for you every night! He loves asking about Aaron and if his motorcycle is okay — boys & their priorities! We wish we could be up there with you guys — although Aaron, haven’t we already visited you in a hospital before? And you still haven’t learned that you need to keep those tubes in, silly. Don’t even ask me to sew up any! Gee Tedi — why do we fall in love with these guys so much? Certainly, times like these we realize how much we love them — in spite of their lack of compliance! My husband listens to me less & less with every passing semester of medical school, so I hope Aaron is a better patient for you! Gotta love them! Call if you guys need anything. Miss you & take care!

    Love, 3M
    Mark, Michelle & Matt Ledesma

    PJ

  326. Just a quick hello to let you know I’m thinking about you guys. I’ve been wearing my bracelet since Brownie delivered it to me Saturday night and think about Aaron all day while I’m working. Angelina saw it today and was jealous, so hopefully she’ll be getting one soon too. :)

Thanks for the continued updates, Tedi. We appreciate them. When we (MMP) issued the press release about the accident and the auction, I emailed it to everyone at MMP, so co-workers ask me for updates on Aaron’s condition every few days. (I sent them the link to this site, but I guess it’s easier to ask me :-) ) So it’s nice to continue to have new information to share, and more people thinking positive things about Aaron’s recovery.

Big hugs to all of you – and good luck to Scott in the race!
    Jen

  327. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May God bless you with healing on your mind and body.

  328. Glad to see the good update and that Aaron got out of the room a bit. I hope that little improvement like that are what keeps his fighting spirit going. Keep the updates coming, And we’ll keep praying!

Just checked the web site to see if any new progress reports,so he must be doing the same. You do such a good job of explaining his progress, it helps me understand his injuries.

    Love Dad and Mom

  332. Clarkie & Crew,
so sorry to hear you had a BIG off! I had know no idea how successful you’ve been, mate your a bloody legend!!! So cool to see your career from reading this site. I would never of guessed in 1990 racing motocross with you in whangarei, that you’d end up living the dream. ” Racing in the US, factory rider “. All racers know big crashes are sometimes only a heart beat away and if you can’t man up you mite as well pack up and go home!

All the best for 100% recovery I would love to bang bars with you again in the future.

  340. Well- you were getting a little thick in the middle… :) I think this was a little drastic just to lose some weight, though. Maybe next time more exercise and less texting. Get well soon.

  341. Aaron, glad to hear you are on the road to recovery. Looking forward to coming up and seeing you when we can. Stay strong and take care.

All the best to you and your family from the guys at Dynojet.

  342. Hey Aaron,

I was sitting at the counter reading Road Racing World with Jack last weekend while he was eating lunch, and we saw a cool picture of some racers, and he pointed to the guy in the front of the pack and said “That’s Clarkie”. :) Really made me smile.

I’m thinking of you often, keep working hard!
    Alex

  343. just wanted to say God Bless and the best of luck to all of you involved in this time of need.

  347. Hi Aaron, Megan and team

Great to hear that some of the wires are starting to reconnect, a frustrating and rewarding process at the same time I imagine. Given that it is so long since I last saw you Aaron most of the memories I have will probably be just as vague as yours. Megan mentioned that a certain Mr Kelly was due to arrive over your way shortly. That reminds me of a fairly amusing night here at Tahere, (yes I am back living at the farm in Whangarei), with yourself Mark, Ned and I a long time ago. I can’t remember what the occasion was but I do recall a lot of beverage and laughs. Its funny being back here after nearly 20 years away as I am constantly running into people from school who I recognise although often cant remember the names. You certainly often pop up in the resulting conversations due to your newfound fame. As for news from me, not sure if Megan has told you, I have two wee boys, Niko (2) and Charlie (4), hence the move from Auckland back here to keep them out of trouble on the farm. Best you get better soon so you can help me manage the inevitable interest in motor bikes! (We havent got any horses any more). Take care, thinking of you often. Arwen

  348. Everyday we take the time to check the updates to see what progress you have made. Tedi, Megan, Scott and others have posted up such detailed information so we know where you are in your recovery. It’s going to be a long road but you have come a long way already. You and your family are in our thoughts every day.

We are here if you need anything.

  349. Hey Aaron,
I just read about you in Roadracing Worlds December issue. At the top of the page there’s an article about your wins at King of the Mountain GTO and Open Superbike races at Plaza cycles Masters of the Mountain season finale. At the bottom of the same page there is an article about your accident.
I was very sorry to hear about your accident and hope that you can recover as quickly and fully as possible. By the sounds of it you have a wonderful family and great network of friends to help you achieve this.
You may not remember me by just my name, you helped me with my 04 Tuono when you worked at Seacoast in New Hampshire. Remember those sweet magnesium wheels we put on the bike.
You always had time to chat and a great sense of humor, I send my best wishes for a speedy recovery.
    Ken Briner

  350. Clarkie,
We miss your regular visits, and all of Colorado Powersports is pulling for you. You’ve always been very cool and chatty, and quick to help out friends and strangers. Its nice to see everyone rallying for your support, your hard as nails and You CAN DO THIS!

  351. Hi Aaron,

This is only the second time that I have signed your cool guest book, but I, along with all the family and our employees at both shops have been following your amazing progress quite closely.

We really wish you the best, and I am sure it will be hard, but trust me when I say this, based on our racing battles and duels, I know you are a tough, typical Kiwi motocrosser, who will pull through this. I know this last season was a little tough between us, but I was really looking forward to getting out there on the dirt bikes with you this winter. Maybe after knocking you off once or twice we could have picked up as friends again ;)

Seriously, we all wish you the best to a speedy recovery, and many of us are looking forward to visiting with you soon.

    Cheers,

    Brad Hendry,
    Hendry family,
    Foothills employees,
    Northern Colorado employees
    and many more!

  352. Hi Aaron!

We’re sporting our awesome Clarkie bracelets — although our little man Matt says they’re for girls. He’s 3 & so much like his Dad. But, hey Aaron, you got Mark to wear a girl’s bracelet — it must be love! We love you guys and are sending our thoughts & prayers for you all daily! Miss you Aaron & Tedi — and hope Yoshi is doing well too. Congrats to Scott on his race abroad & glad he’s home safe. Take care!

  357. Hi Aaron,

It has been a long time since the days of bike riding down on the farm below our home when you lived in Maromaku and we are so grateful to be able to log into this website and follow your progress. Thank you Alex for giving us that opportunity. Aaron and his family were our neighbours and are our cousins. I have kept all the Northern Advocate paper clipping, ever the historian, and we wish you all the best for the speediest recovery possible. You know the Maromaku saying … when the going gets tough, the tough get going… and we Clarks can get going too and you can be well again. It has been neat to meet your wife through the messages she writes. She sounds like a gem. Love to you and your family from Barbara and Brenton at home in the little country area back in NZ where you had your first bike lessons. You are remembered in our prayers Aaron.

    God bless.

  358. Clarkie,

I’m reading the updates on the website and am SO glad to hear you are getting better and your memory is coming back. You are not just a sponsored rider for Suomy, you are my friend and I am grateful to know you. Stay strong my brother!

    Cheers,
    Maddie

  362. Happy thanksgiving to Clarkie and his family.
Jack and I received our bracelet yesterday and will wear them proudly.
Aaron,I’m not sure you remember us but we (especially Jack) respected your knowledge and help when you were in NH. Jack is racing now at LRRS and for me your accident is “hitting home” so to speak. cause he has been injured a few times but not as severe. so I say a prayer daily for your recovery and your family as well.
I would like to meet them some day.
    Judy Hannon

  363. Julie and I are still pulling for you… get better and come back racing soon.

  364. Clarkie, It has been a couple of weeks since i posted but i check your progress every day. You can pull through this! I will remove this bracelet when you are fully recovered, not a minute sooner.

  365. Hi: Just read your latest message Tedi, sounds like Aaron has a long road ahead wit his swallowing and talking, but we will be praying for him. Have a nice thanksgiving, we will be thinking of you, and missing you.

    Love Mom and Dad

  366. Aaron, Tedi and Family: We just want to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. We are both very thankful this year for family and friends – especially you Aaron. Best wishes for the holiday. Love to all. Ron and Helen

  367. Hi Aaron, Just thought you might need some Kiwi love. Thanksgiving doesn’t mean a lot to us in New Zealand but from now on it will have special place in our hearts. Rob & I and your cousins are all very thankful you are making progress. I am sure you have down moments but keep looking at the Fighting Kiwi flag and know that it was designed because of people like you. We check the website many times a day and with the updates from your Mum and Megan and Tedi and Alex we feel very informed. Keep your strength and determination up and hopefully we will see your smiling face soon.

Love to all and all your support team.

Sue, Rob, Deb & Steve, Frazer and Hayden & Rebecca

  368. Hey Aaron… I can still remember when you lost your sponsorship/ride before the last race of the season (back around 2001…) and we all pulled together and got you out to the final race so you could win that year! We pulled it together then, and we can pull it together now… you’re a fighter… and we know you’re not going to let this beat you! We’re all sending you positive thoughts from Arizona, and have been spreading the word about this site. With everyone’s love, support, and positive thoughts, we know you’ll pull through this.

We’re looking forward to seeing you well again… hang in their buddy…

    Lots of Love,

  376. Hey Clarkie,

I hope you had a good weekend. On Saturday I rode with Jim Brewer down to High Plains Raceway to do some work on the new track, it was my first time there and we got a tour lap in a truck, then I rode a lap on my bicycle while the snow flurries fell. Jim and I talked about you a lot on the way from Fort Collins, remembering when we’d first met you, how you always have time to chat or give advice, and what great work you did on our bikes.

I miss you, keep working hard!
    Alex

  377. I miss you tons….:)

    XOXOXOXOX

  378. Clarkie- you swallowed! Soon enough I will be able to send you your very own loaf of banana bread :) I miss you and am glad to hear of your progress from the site, Tedi, and Scott. Thor is also thrilled to hear that you still think his honda is slow ;)

  383. Clarkie,
Sorry to hear about the accident. Get well soon.
You did the custom map on my Tuono when you were at Seacoast Sportcycle, NH.
I know how hard the injuries can be, I’ve been a few.
In fact I just got into one on Oct.26,2008.
I broke my left wrist & lost my spleene.
    Good luck,

  385. Hi Aaron, (Megan and co)
Just checking in to see where you are at. Swallowing!! thats awesome. I can’t even imagine 7 weeks without being able to taste food and wine, (in no particular order of priority). I have just been away on a bit of a biking break myself, although the non-motorised kind. A mountain biking holiday without kids!! We were down near Wanaka way, amazing weather, and big hills. My backside and legs are still in shock, (maybe I should trade them in for an engine?) Anyways am very pleased to hear things are improving, painfully slowly from your point of view I am sure, but you will get there. Then maybe you can coming mountain biking back here too! (probably not quite the same adrenalin rush). Thinking of you loads, keep grinning/grimmacing what ever it takes.
    Arwen

  386. Aaron,

Congrats on the recent swallow test!
Good to hear you are making positive progress.
    Keep up the fight.

  390. Hey guys, we’ve been keeping up with the blog here. Sounds like the body is coming back quickly as well as the mind. We’re thinking of you daily and wishing you well. As always, let us know if there’s anything “neighborly” we can do for you! Nothing is too great or too small to ask of us! Continue to take care of eachother please! Be well.
    -Hugh and Dylon MacEachran

p.s. A pair of foxes has taken up residence in the neighborhood and they seem to like hanging out in, and in front of, your yard in the evenings and early in the mornings. They’ve been a lot of fun to watch! (but, so far, they don’t appear to be pests)

  391. A day hasn’t gone by that I haven’t come here to check on you. I hope the move to NZ helps your recovery. I will see you again someday my friend.

  392. I miss your presence out at IMI riding supermoto. Keep hanging in there, and I am sure you will continue to make great improvements knowing the fighting spirit you have.

  393. Aaron, another month has arrived to see you better than the last, and still improving. I can’t imagine the struggle you’re going through. You serve as an inspiration to all of us. Anytime I think about quitting – anything – I’m going to think of you, and how you never have. Keep fighting, keep your chin up, and keep getting better! Our thought and prayers are with you.

  394. Aaron, I hope you have a safe journey to New Zealand. We will miss you for sure. I hope to keep hearing of your progress on this website. Stay strong and know that all you friends here in the U.S. will be waiting for your return.

  395. Keep fighting, you are doing amazing! Take care and Godspeed my friend.

  396. Aaron,

Even though we only have had brief conversations in the MRA pits (usually initiated by my dog dragging me over to your pit so Tedi could spoil him), you and your family and friends have been in my prayers every day since your accident and will continue to be in them throughout your recovery.

May God grant you safe travels and a complete recovery and may He grant us your speedy return to our midst,

My hope is that you will keep your sense of humor as it will make your load all that much lighter in the process. 407. Dude- Looks like that colossal sized Dunkin Donuts with the double expresso shot I got for you will have to wait a little longer! :-(

I check on your status every day and the kids still ask where the guy who talks funny is when we go into SSC. :-)

Have a good flight (as good as it can be) and keep working hard down under. It must seem like progress is taking forever and the steps are far too small, but as long as they are in the right direction, it all adds up.

Continuing to look forward to the updates. Thank you Tedi, Megan and Alex for that.

    Keep digging deep,
    David, Stephanie, Kate & Connor

  408. Gee Aaron – I was hoping you could stay here to rehab, but I guess it is an important benefit to be surrounded by extensive family to help you along your journey.

Man, you have got one amazing group of people supporting you! I will keep checking your website for updates and passing on your progress to Roadracing World readers.

    Dave

  416. I hope being home will be speed the healing and lift your spirits! I fell off a ladder way back in 91 and ended up with 13 different broken bones and a lot of internal damage. The next year was a blur of operations and lots of great help from medical staff and family. I feel great today and really was amazed how well the body heals. I can’t do ever thing I could before the fall but I really value every day. You are a fighter, keep pushing!

  417. Hi Aaron. It was absolutely terrific seeing you and Megan this afternoon. Sitting outside in the park in the sun catching up was the just the best. You are doing so well and Rob & I are so proud of you and your team. We will pop in again next Sunday. Don’t forget to text me if you need anything. We look forward to visiting you with beer and pork chops – hopefully not too far in the future!!!

  418. Clarkie,

Hello, from Scotts Friends in AZ, Our Prayers are with you.

  419. Hi Aaron – It was so great seeing you again today. We had a good laugh. Your sense of humour is so strong I know it won’t be long before you are running the ward. Obviously having a night away from medics and staying at Megan and Andrew’s was great therapy. Christmas will be even better. We will pop in again after you get back from Megan’s on Boxing Day. Look after yourself and keep those positive thoughts flowing.

All our love from the tribe!!!

  420. Megan, Clarkie, et al:

Great to hear the news about all of the progress and that the trip back to Kiwi country went well. The progress reports are very encouraging.

I saw an item in today’s local newspaper that your Dad might like to see. Pam was cutting my hair a while back and told me Aaron’s Dad had stopped there for a haircut while he was downtown. See http://www.gazette.com/articles/barber_45213___article.html/hunt_shop.html .

Keep up the progress reports, we all do care.

  434. Hey Aaron – it’s been a week since I have seen you and the progress is evident. Rob & I are confident it won’t be long before you are back in the USA having all functions working normally. That is due to your strength and determination. You said today reading back through the feed back on the website has made you reaise what your family and friends have been through after the accident while you were oblivious to everthing and how it made you feel. Remember that you had so much support because of you and your ability to give. What goes round comes round!!! Hey that would make a good song – I must get hold of Justin Timberlake and see if he is interested!!!!! Take care and I will pop in again Tuesday morning.

  435. Aaron

I am glad to see you are up and about. Merry Christmas and a healthy 2009

  436. Hey Aaron,
Glad to see you up and about, Merry Christmas to you and your family. I’m sure you don’t remember who I am but we met on the front straight at Miller back in Sept. Anyway, I’ve been following your progress ever since and it’s good to see you there with your family. NZ is looking pretty good as we’ve been in the midst of a terrible cold spell here (WA). Best wishes in the new year, I think of you often and keep you in my prayers for a continued and full recovery.

  437. Hi again Aaron. Sorry I missed you yesterday. I guess now that you are on crutches you will be hard to nail down. You are now armed and dangerous!! We wil pop in again over New Year. Try not to party too long tonight!!

    Love Sue & Rob

  438. hey aaron, this is T, formerly of N. CO BMW/Ducati. i heard about your accident and i’m glad to see that you are doing well. i hope the new year brings more progress and a continued healthy recovery. keeping you in my thoughts and hope we meet again someday. take care and stay strong

  439. Hi: Aaron what great news, to read you are on crutches. Now they will not be able to hold you down.

We had a very quiet christmas this year, we sure missed you, Tedi and Scott.so hopefully you will be walking around when we see you again.

Good luck. Keep on with your great work.

    Lovve Mom Dad

  440. Happy New Year to the whole groups of you, and Aaron, it’s a gift to us to see you up on crutches and smiling!!

Keep up the great work, and we’ll keep wat6ching the updates!

  441. Hi Aaron – after visiting you yesterday we are very confident you will be back in the USA sooner rather than later. Walking around on one crutch is yet another milestone – these milestones seem to be happening faster than any of us could have imagined. The fact that you survived an influx of visitors today is a sure sign that your determination and motivation is still very strong. Going back to physio on Monday after 2 weeks break will be painful – but worth it. You must be looking forward to it. Keep fighting!!

    Love Sue & Rob

  442. Hey Aaron! It is great you’re off to such a good start to 2009! Crutches! (I had to use those last year — and it definitely beats a wheelchair.) We hope you had a very Merry Christmas being with your friends & family in your native land. We miss you here though & keep you in our thoughts and prayers always! Keep pushing on as you have a wonderful new year ahead of you and a lot of love & support behind you! Take Care!
    Love, 3M

  444. Great job Clarkie! Glad you had a good Christmas.

  445. Woooo Hoooo! Looks like that double shot DD coffee is back on the menu!

While you are taking those ‘first steps’ down under, Connor & I took his XR50 out on the ice for his first motorized excursion. Once he realized that it had plenty of grip on the ice, he couldn’t get the smile off of his face. :-)

    Keep working hard.

  461. Clarkie – What a great couple of recent posts! Certainly great to see you back in action. As in everything, you are always faster than the average Joe, even in recovery. The whole Longbottom Brothers Racing clan is behind you. Although we do okay on pits in Daytona, I think your choice to go to NZ and keep us away from tinkering with your medical equipment was a wise one.

  462. Clarkie.
Sooo good to see you getting around. All the best to you bud. Coming to NZ in March. If you are still in Auckland Steph and I will try to visit.
    Garth

  463. It’s great to see you typing again and to hear of the progress you’ve made. Keep plugging away!! Your in our thoughts, our hearts and our prayers.

  464. You probably don’t know me but I was out at just about all the races this past year. I really enjoyed watching you race and putting down some great battles on the track. Glad to see you’re up and about and able to talk. Good luck with all your rehab, it appears to be paying off big time.

    -Adam-

  465. Whatup clarkie,Toby Wong here, sending you positive vibrations since the day of your accident.Just wanted to let you know the crew and I have started every rip ride, every cocktail and every bowl with a toast to your rapid recovery.I hope our positivity can be felt a half a globe away. After working next to your smart ass all season,I knew you would’nt be lying around in bed for to long. The news of your plans to return to RMK were no surprise to me.You’re one tough kiwi bastard, and I’d expect nothing less from a British colonist. Can’t wait to hit the dirt/tarmac with you.Stay Strong homey. -Your China Plate Mate TOBY WONG-

  466. Hey Aaron, great to see you up and about again, especially without crutches. I was surprised that when you went to the fridge you didn’t pop a beer though. I’ll toss one back for you then. :D

Take care and continue to get well. Speaking from my own experience, you will be up and back on the bike before you know it.

    JCR

  467. hey aaron, glad to see ya getting around, posting, getting back to some normal and familair things, keep it going, just to think where you were a few months ago, where your at now, and where your going to in the future is amazing considering all that happened. everybody also keep in mind, if you donated your entitled to the get well clarkie decals and the AC decals for the helmet

  469. Hi: Keep up the good work, Aaron. We are so proud of you and your excellent progress.

    Love dad & mom jensen

  470. Aaron, good to see you doing so well. The interview confirmed you are done racing, but not entirely. My Clarkie bracelet is going to be installed on the top triple of my 1098 for this season.

It may not go as fast as you are accustomed, but you may be able to give me some pointers. So, Clarkie will ride in 2009,

    TB

  471. Hi Aaron and family -
So great to hear of your continued progress! That’s fantastic. We wish you continued healing and happiness.
    All the best,
    Brian

  472. Aaron Hi. was so nice to read your latest message, wish we were with you in New Zealand, we still have snow on the ground. Today we havea warm front moving in with feezing rain, wind, tonight it will change over to snow, so the roads will be slick, icy, I suppose lots accidents, fender benders. We are getting spring fever, ready to get the pontoon in the lake.

Congrats on your pregress. Very enteresting article, beautiful scenery where you are.

    Love Dad and Mom Jens

  473. Hi Aaron,
It is so great to hear and read about your progress! You’re doing so awesome!!! You have a lot of people rooting for you!
We’ve met before at the AMA when we were both racing I believe. I’ve been following your progress and have kept you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
I too suffered an injury to my brain (had a stroke in November) and have shared some of the same experiences. Its crazy how something can change your life forever in one second. Like you said, its crazy how things we once took for granted, like walking up stairs, we now cherish.
It would be awesome to connect with you sometime.
Continue to do what you do, your impact is huge and will be felt by many. Keep plugging away at therapy! All those little and big accomplishments add up! I’m sure you’ve had frustrating days, I have them too, but you work through it and it only makes you stronger and more determined to pull through.
    Take care!
    Jessica Zalusky

  474. Hey Aaron,

Keep up the good work! It is good to see you progressing week to week. I know the speed of recovery can be frustrating, but keep your spirits up – all the fans back here in the US are still rooting for you. Thanks for the invite to NZ, but I think I will see you here (Miller?) before you see me there. The kids say hi.

    Adam

  478. Hi: Aaron, good to see you are doing so well. Sounds like rehab is working out for you. That exercise ball sounds like a good tool for exercising on. I have been wondering if that would work for me, it might be a good investment, huh. You should see Sprocket, he is not fat, but just a big cat. I asked Tedi & Scott to take him home with them, but they didn’t. He runs from one room to other, he has alot of energy. Keep up the good work.

    Love Dad & Mom Jensen

  479. Get well Clarkie….EVERYONE at MPH in Hastings, NE is praying for your speedy recovery, health, and well being. God Speed to you and your family.

  480. Clarkie,
It’s great to see your progress. You’re an inspiration and I’m happy to know you!

Get home soon and I’ll have to come out and visit!

  481. Hello Aaron – You are writing remarkably well! Thanks for sharing with us. It is the most reassuring thing you could do for those of us back in the states.

Snow all over New England, but race prep is well underway. Gus’ younger brother, Zach, will be a first year expert in LRRS. We’re building him a new R6. Pat Doyle is prepping it, Jesse will map it, and Mike Martire will do the suspension. Wish you were here to help him learn how to go fast.

Take care and keep the updates coming. -Bob Holcomb, Boston

  482. hi aaron, great to read how well you are doing, keep up the good progress.luv denise & paul, jordan, dana

  483. Hi Aaron,
Just wanted to tell you we still think of you and hope recovery continues to be steady. Most of Jack and my conversations (ok almost all) are about racing and bikes so I enjoy the stories Jack tells me about when you gave advice or just talking stuff to him back in the seacoast days. They make me laugh.
    take care

  485. Hi: Aaron we just gothome from Flandeur SD, we went down on a tour bus Sunday and came back Monday. We had fun, came home ahead which is nice for a change. We drove in blowing snow and tonight we are expecting snow around 5 inches and blowing snow tomorrow.

So another blast of snow and cold weather.

    Dad & Mom Jensen

  486. Wow, Clarkie – sounds like you’re making great progress, which we LOVE to hear. Probably for you it feels slow and frustrating at times, but keep battling. I hope you’ll make it out to Miller during the season. We’d love to see you!

I wish you continued healing and progress,
    Brian

  487. Hi Aaron: Just read your newest letter, you are doing such great work & progress. We are doing great, the weather has gotten warmer here so the snow is melting and the frost is coming out of the ground, now we have been getting rain, so the river is rising and overland flooding, so we have water problems, Corey is having a wait and see problem until thursday when the river in Fargo is expected to crest, that is the Red River, which flows north. All of the other rivers which flow into the Red River. Alot of sandbagging being done in the area. So we are just hoping and praying that everything comes out okay.

    Love Mom & Dave Jensen

  488. Clarkie

I am happy to hear you are doing well. Keep it up

  499. Hey Aaron. It is wonderful you are preparing for your trip back to the States. Of course there are a lot of people back here in New Zealand that will miss you heaps – but the fact that you are ready to go home is a wonderful achievement. Maybe one day you can bring Tedi back to show her our beautiful country. Take care and remember we are all only a phone call or email away. Best love to you both. Rob & Sue

  506. Hey Aaron,
Glad to see you back in the US.hope you enjoy being back.
Very nice reading about the “sensitive” side of what happened. I guess I am on your families side and when I go back to Jacks accident and watching him each Loudon weekend I can feel some of the emotion. Must say,you keep him on his mission,he keeps your bracelet on the bike for inspiration.
    Take care
    Judy

  507. Hi Aaron
Fantastic to hear the latest from Meegs. Caught up with her and Ned and Dad and Mary for coffee Sunday. Awesome to hear of the track and work prospects.
We had the Grandies with us so was difficult to talk in amongst fluffies and little tanties! We will keep in the link and follow latest. Work still slow here. Sherryl arriving this week so looking forward to seeing her. Talk soon.
Lots of love, keep strong, Love Johnny and Les.

  508. Hey Aaron – I really enjoyed your last post and the notion of ‘filling the void’. That is one of your gifts. Remember when you publiched that Aprilia Cup set-up piece in Roadracing World? That was a perfect example of filling a big void. Here were all these new 250 RS 250 owners running several seconds off your pace. We were running race fuels, pipes etc. and dynoing at 56 when you ran 62. You publish your set-ups and suddenly we were all coming in about 61 running 87 test!

If you remember, it was all in the power valve adjustsment and little things to reduce driveline drag. There is a void out there you can fill. Call JU and ask him about it. He does that too, you know, but maybe different.

I wish you were here to help my scrub. He’s had a rough start to his first expert season at Loudon. He’s had good finishes, but not enough finishes if you know what I mean. We think he is getting on top of it, though. Seat time helps. -bob
