  10. Hi Aaron Tedi & Scott – Nephew and his 2 best friends across the water!!! So wonderful to hear you are progressing. We are ecstatic that the Fighting Kiwi spirit is flourishing in you. I am sending 2 flags to you via Megan which we hope will help you push even harder. Let me know what you think. Tedi & Scott – if there was an award for bravery, stamina and dedication it should be split between both of you. Of course there is a very close network of family support which helps but you two are rocks for Aaron and each other. Your Mom and Dad have produced 2 (at least) incredible children. We are so looking forward to meeting you when we are able. Aaron – we all send our love to you and remeber we are thinking of you all the time.

  11. Hi Scott & Tedi,
I know you don’t know me, even though Clarkie worked for us for a short time at Twin Peaks. Just wanted you to know that we’re still praying for you and checking the website a few times a day for updates.
I know that it must seem like for every 2 steps forward you get with Aaron that he goes 1 step back…And that’s exactly what will probably happen for awhile. But it appears he IS making that little forward progress all the time.
By the looks of this website you’ve got too many people to count that are in your corner giving you support from every side.
Hang in there and thank you SO much for all your work on keeping us all updated. This was a fantastic idea to get set up. we’re all thinking of Aaron, but if everyone that wanted to see him came down they’d need traffic control at the hospital! This way we feel like we’re with him each day.
Love & Prayers to you both, Aaron, and the whole family.
    Donna

  12. Get well soon Clarkie.

  13. Checking in again from Oregon. Wishing Clarkie a good recovery.

Some inspiring news. so that while the Glascow Coma rating looks bleak, it’s not over! Not by a long shot!! My friend Mason was hit on the street. When he was admitted into the hospital, after they stabilized him, they rated his Glasgow Coma scale at a 2 or 3. After 59 days in a coma, and three months in a care facility, 5 months to the day after he was hit, he stood in the standing frame for 2 and 1/2 minutes on his own!! He was moved to another facility (RIO unit in Portland, OR) and is doing even better with the intensive physical, psychological, speech and cognitive rehab.

To come from GCS of 3, to where he is now, should definitely show that strong people with lots of love and care around them can show amazing results.

Fight on Clarkie, and heal up!!
    Jed

  14. Godspeed Clarkie.

  17. Dear Aaron & Tedi (and of course, Scott),

Our prayers are with you all for a speedy recovery for Aaron & a safe trip for Scott — and strength for Tedi in looking after both boys! We have our little man, Matt, praying for you every night! He loves asking about Aaron and if his motorcycle is okay — boys & their priorities! We wish we could be up there with you guys — although Aaron, haven’t we already visited you in a hospital before? And you still haven’t learned that you need to keep those tubes in, silly. Don’t even ask me to sew up any! Gee Tedi — why do we fall in love with these guys so much? Certainly, times like these we realize how much we love them — in spite of their lack of compliance! My husband listens to me less & less with every passing semester of medical school, so I hope Aaron is a better patient for you! Gotta love them! Call if you guys need anything. Miss you & take care!

    Love, 3M

  26. Just a quick hello to let you know I’m thinking about you guys. I’ve been wearing my bracelet since Brownie delivered it to me Saturday night and think about Aaron all day while I’m working. Angelina saw it today and was jealous, so hopefully she’ll be getting one soon too. :)

Thanks for the continued updates, Tedi. We appreciate them. When we (MMP) issued the press release about the accident and the auction, I emailed it to everyone at MMP, so co-workers ask me for updates on Aaron’s condition every few days. (I sent them the link to this site, but I guess it’s easier to ask me :-) ) So it’s nice to continue to have new information to share, and more people thinking positive things about Aaron’s recovery.

Big hugs to all of you – and good luck to Scott in the race!
    Jen

  27. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May God bless you with healing on your mind and body.

  28. Glad to see the good update and that Aaron got out of the room a bit. I hope that little improvement like that are what keeps his fighting spirit going. Keep the updates coming, And we’ll keep praying!

  32. Clarkie & Crew,
so sorry to hear you had a BIG off! I had know no idea how successful you’ve been, mate your a bloody legend!!! So cool to see your career from reading this site. I would never of guessed in 1990 racing motocross with you in whangarei, that you’d end up living the dream. ” Racing in the US, factory rider “. All racers know big crashes are sometimes only a heart beat away and if you can’t man up you mite as well pack up and go home!

All the best for 100% recovery I would love to bang bars with you again in the future.

  40. Well- you were getting a little thick in the middle… :) I think this was a little drastic just to lose some weight, though. Maybe next time more exercise and less texting. Get well soon.

  42. Hey Aaron,

I was sitting at the counter reading Road Racing World with Jack last weekend while he was eating lunch, and we saw a cool picture of some racers, and he pointed to the guy in the front of the pack and said “That’s Clarkie”. :) Really made me smile.

I’m thinking of you often, keep working hard!

  47. Hi Aaron, Megan and team

Great to hear that some of the wires are starting to reconnect, a frustrating and rewarding process at the same time I imagine. Given that it is so long since I last saw you Aaron most of the memories I have will probably be just as vague as yours. Megan mentioned that a certain Mr Kelly was due to arrive over your way shortly. That reminds me of a fairly amusing night here at Tahere, (yes I am back living at the farm in Whangarei), with yourself Mark, Ned and I a long time ago. I can’t remember what the occasion was but I do recall a lot of beverage and laughs. Its funny being back here after nearly 20 years away as I am constantly running into people from school who I recognise although often cant remember the names. You certainly often pop up in the resulting conversations due to your newfound fame. As for news from me, not sure if Megan has told you, I have two wee boys, Niko (2) and Charlie (4), hence the move from Auckland back here to keep them out of trouble on the farm. Best you get better soon so you can help me manage the inevitable interest in motor bikes! (We havent got any horses any more). Take care, thinking of you often. Arwen

  48. Everyday we take the time to check the updates to see what progress you have made. Tedi, Megan, Scott and others have posted up such detailed information so we know where you are in your recovery. It’s going to be a long road but you have come a long way already. You and your family are in our thoughts every day.

We are here if you need anything.

  49. Hey Aaron,
I just read about you in Roadracing Worlds December issue. At the top of the page there’s an article about your wins at King of the Mountain GTO and Open Superbike races at Plaza cycles Masters of the Mountain season finale. At the bottom of the same page there is an article about your accident.
I was very sorry to hear about your accident and hope that you can recover as quickly and fully as possible. By the sounds of it you have a wonderful family and great network of friends to help you achieve this.
You may not remember me by just my name, you helped me with my 04 Tuono when you worked at Seacoast in New Hampshire. Remember those sweet magnesium wheels we put on the bike.
You always had time to chat and a great sense of humor, I send my best wishes for a speedy recovery.
    Ken Briner

  50. Clarkie,
We miss your regular visits, and all of Colorado Powersports is pulling for you. You’ve always been very cool and chatty, and quick to help out friends and strangers. Its nice to see everyone rallying for your support, your hard as nails and You CAN DO THIS!
