Hi John and Raye,so sorry to read of your son’s accident(every parent’s worst nightmare) Great to read of his progress on the website and that you are able to be there to help him through it.Know that there are heaps of us back in Whangarei thinking of you all and sending positive thoughts and love your way. 2. Aaron-
Its such a relief to hear you are improving. You’ve got to be about the toughest SOB to have walked the MMP paddock, and that’s got to be paying off in spades now! I try to send positive thoughts your way every day, but with the amazing crew that you’ve got around you out there, you probably don’t need any more help. You’re all heroes in my book, from you Aaron, to Josh, Glen & Shannon, Scott and Tedi, all the Clarks and Jensens, all of you. Keep up the good work and get well soon.
    Mike Bunds

If you haven’t already, please let Aaron know that he’s not allowed to have visitors for the time being, so he doesn’t think we’ve forgotten about him. :-)

  13. Hey Clarkie!
Big Mike, Cassy, and I celebrate each new hurdle that you cross. We are praying for you and your family and trying to ‘lead the straight life’ to get some bonus points~ I’ve cut back on those ‘greyhounds’ until we can all celebrate together.

Tedi and Scott, you are both such amazing people making everyone one feel that they are a big part in Clarkie’s recovery. You both need to take care of yourselves so that you can also be strong for Clarkie. We all love you guys and will do anything necessary to help. Please ask, all of your friends are waiting for the chance.

Words cannot describe the feeling we had when we heard the news. Know that you both are in our prayers and we’re keeping up on Aaron’s progress through this site Robert told Cathy about. Like all your friends who deeply care, if there is anything at all we can do for you, please don’t ever hesitate to reach out and ask. We are here for you both!

  16. Aaron,

Scott (Rybo) and I were hoping to make it down to see you today but it was called off because you weren’t up to it. Heal up, feel better, get rest. We will stop in some time when you are getting on a little better. Until then, Judy, Sid, Viv and I are thinking about you a lot, hoping you get better fast.

Tedi and Scott – keep up the good work. We hope to be able to stop by sometime and say hi (even though Tedi has never met me and Scott will only barely recognize me).

  17. Hey guys! Don and I just want to say we are thinking of all of you every single day. We are happy to hear of Aaron’s progress. Thank you, Alex, for making this site available for all of Aaron’s amazing friends and family to keep in touch with what is going on with Aaron. Tedi, if there is anything you need, please don’t hesitate to let us know. Scott, thank you for progress reports. Hang tough, guys.
Lots of love to all of you,
    Crystal & Don

  19. Aaron, Scott has been terrific about keeping me up to date with changes in your condition and I have been visiting this site a lot. I’ve started to type comments before but had to stop, this time I promised myself I wouldn’t.

Keep fighting, Aaron. You’re a winner and a true champion. I know you have the strength, courage and, let’s face it – orneriness, to get through this. For me, at least, you and I will always be bonded together by the events of that day, and I won’t be whole again until you are. I’m with you in spirit every moment of every day. Keep fighting.

  20. Clarkie, so sorry to hear about your accident. I was thinking about the better times with you at Aprilia the other day. Hope to see you back strong and healthy soon. Hang in there, Tedi. Your friend, Rick.

  21. Aaron,

Our thoughts are with you and we keep our fingers crossed for you on the other side of the pond. Get better soon!!! We would love to read about a speedy recovery back to good health!

  23. Hey Clarkie – So glad to hear you’re improving, as we knew you would! Keep battling, we’re all wishing you continued progress each day. And thanks so much for the updates.

    All the best,
    Brian

  24. Hey Aaron,
Wishing you the best for a speedy recovery. The day I met you way back at VIR in 02′ will always be remembered. Watching you back that Mille into turn one was the highlight of my weekend. You have always answered all of my stupid questions without hesitation and I thank you for that. Hang in there bud and know there are lots of folks thinking about you.

  25. Hi: Tedi,Scooter and Aaron

This mom and Dad, we have been reading all of the up-dates on Aaron, you, Scott have been doing a great job of keeping us informed on Aaron’s progress. Yesterday when I went on the web site, you didn’t have one I was worried, but was hoping it was good news. Of course it was. Aaron has inproved a lot.

Aaron, I which I could be there to give you a big hug and a kiss. we are praying for you and hoping for a speeedy recovery. When we come to see you at christmas.

    Love from Mom and Dad

  26. Aaron,

Below is an excerpt of an email I sent late Thursday Oct 16 to Scott to read to you. I wrote it when I got home that night and saw that you’d had a rough day and had to go back on the ventilator. I hadn’t seen the updates on the site since earlier in the day, when the breathing tube was out and things were going well, so I’d decided while I was out that night to blow off work the next day, hop on my motorcycle and drive out to see you. Then I got home and saw that you’d had a rough afternoon and weren’t going to be taking any visitors until after the weekend, so I emailed the Scott the message I wanted to give you in person.

Now that you’re more lucid and beginning the next stage of your recovery, I’m sending part of the message again to remind you how much we all care about you.

I take back what I said in a comment on this site on the 12th, about the racing community “needing” you — as in need because we are weak. We are not weak. Nor are you. You are strong. And determined. Aaron, we don’t *need* you to complete us. We *WANT* you in our lives because you enrich us. Our lives are better simply because you are in them. Not because of any particular thing you do for us. Just because you’re you.

It’s time to once again show how strong you are, and to once again be an inspiration to others. There are literally thousands of people glued to their computers, checking your status, sending you good thoughts, prayers, and healing energy. You should see all of the comments on all of the forums around the world. Around the WORLD!! Thousands of people whose lives you’ve touched, whose lives you’ve made better – people who WANT you to continue to be in their lives.

Do you have any idea how rare that is? To have thousands of people actively WANTING you to recover (not just passively “hoping” because it’s the nice thing to do) so they can continue to have the pleasure of knowing you? Not many people have the opportunity to touch that many lives. If it were me in that hospital bed, I think I’d be lucky to have 100 people who would care strongly enough to go visit me, set up a website, write all kinds of lovely things, donate stuff to auction off, and give money to help my family with expenses.

That makes me sad, because it makes me realize that I have not been a contribution to very many people. That’s not how I want my life to be. I’m going to find a way to make my life be less about me and more about enriching other people’s lives and being a contribution to them. I want to make enough of a difference in thousands of lives that people would notice if I went missing – and maybe they’d even care enough to do something about it. See, you’ve *already* inspired me with this latest adventure of yours. I’m so grateful to have you in my life and to be able to call you a friend. And I bet I’m not the only one who is inspired by you right now.

Aaron, you are obviously strong and determined to have achieved what you’ve achieved and recovered from your previous injuries. We are all sending you strong, healing energy. I’m pulling it from _everywhere_ and sending it to you. Heal up quickly – collect and use the energy to recover faster than any doctor could possibly even imagine. We are here to support you and help you if you want us to. Whatever you need. Whatever it takes. Because we WANT you in our lives. And because we love you. It’s all going to be OK. Because you say so.

Much love, peace, and light – and loads of healing energy and power! I’ll see you soon.

    Jen

  40. Clarkie:

My best thought go with you always….You helped me a lot when I was working on my 1st Falco, and with RS 250 GP bike. I really appreciate the time you took to email me info and advise.

Sent a little help your way and hope you are up and back to normal soon.

    Bob

  41. Thanks for the update Tedi. I can’t speak to the exact details of Morgan Broadhead’s brain injury sustained during that WERA race at the end of 2007, but I remember there was a time when he wasn’t allowed visitors (even after being transferred from Florida to Utah for rehab) because he was agitated, confused, and not recognizing people. He’s still here in Salt Lake – I had dinner with him a couple months ago, and he’s back to his old self now. Totally coherent, can drive, etc. It took a while and wasn’t an easy road, but he’s back – it *is* possible. Someone else commented that things work out the way they’re supposed to… Josh, Glenn, and Brownie were able to bring Aaron back for a reason. Keep the faith….

Hugs and kisses for all of you – even the family I haven’t met. :)

    Jen

  42. Hi Aaron,

Today Ive been reading the latest up date on your progress, and it sounds like things are on the mend. As I am not a computer buff, in situations like this they are a wonderful tool for keeping in touch with family and friends and in particular reading your progress reports. I have been passing information on your progress to Aunty Hazel and Uncle Des. We are all thinking about you back here. Keep on fighting and be strong.
from Carolyn (part of the Dawson Clan) :) :)

  43. Hope all is well in the Clark world, sorry to hear of your accident but then again it’ll take more than that to stop a boy from the Bombay’s. Heal fast Clarkie, cheers, kev.

  48. Aaron-(and Scott)

As racers we are always faced with adversity. The highs are high, the lows are low, but somehow, we always get through it to race another day. And, that is why all my friends are racers, we never give up and we always get through it. Aaron, this may be your toughest race yet, but you will get through it because we never give up.

    Ken Hill

  49. GOOOOO CLARKIE!!!!! The lights are on and he is in the fight! It is SOOOO good to hear the news of his progress. I have to believe that once he understands “where he is” he’ll understand “where he needs to go”. For a racer, this is all the information needed to make you want to GET ON IT! Racing is all about overcoming obstacles, it’s about bettering your best. Racing teaches you to value small improvements and to pay attention to the details. Racing teaches you to be patient even as you struggle against your personal limits. Aaron is in the fight and the same characteristics that have made him successful on the track will make him successful in this recovery. GOOOOOO CLARKIE GO!!!!!

  50. Hi Tedi, Scott and Aaron,
We’re you’re new next door neighbors in Loveland and we’ve been following along with both your progress in moving in and here as well. We wish you the very best and are hopeful for your recovery individually and together. If there is anything we can do for you (rake leaves, mow the lawn, collect mail) you have but to ask. Best of luck and keep loving eachother!
    Be well,
    -Hugh and Dylon MacEachran
