  3. Hey Clarkie, the other morning while taking Jackson to daycare, out of the blue he asked “Did you go to see Clarkie? Does he still have lots of owwies?” He’s also been telling several people about you, I think you’re his mind frequently. I think he’s pretty in touch for a 3-year old!

You’re in the all out thoughts here, it’s hard to get the words to say, but we think and talk about you a lot. Heal up soon!

  9. Aaron,

I just got the word of your accident today and after reading through the pages and pages of messages, I am happy to hear of your strides to recovery. What a lucky guy you are to have the tremendous support of your family and multitude of friends. It seems you continue to inspire people, just as I remember in the early days of the Aprilia Cup. You’re in a different race now but the same grit and determination will help you win again. I, along with all of your friends here, are watching this battle. And we are all hoping and praying for another Clarkie victory. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

    Bill

Thanks to those who keep this site updated with progress reports, as we check back often!

  17. Hi again,
I just wanted to send you all another message to let you know that you are constantly in my thoughts. I can’t wait to come visit when things have become a bit more stable. It has been so nice to have this website to check in on your progress- and to see all the people that you have met in your life. It is nice to see the Loudon crew post too- brings back memories for us of home :) You have even more people pulling for you than have posted here- We send your progress on to all the people you have met at our house- all the crazy red sox fans that keep you up late on race nights yelling at the TV…we lost last night- I think all our energy was focused on a much more important person in Colorado. Get well Aaron! And use those eyebrows to tell Scott and Tedi- and your family from NZ- to make sure they rest, eat, and care for themselves too- we are all worried about them just as much as you. You have the easy job- You just get to lie there in bed and get sponge baths and nice drugs- they actually have to sit awake and worry!!
If there is anything at all that I can help with please let me know- My love to all of you,
    Holly

  18. Thank you so much for keeping the posts up so consistently, I check it 5 times a day. Clarkie you are in my thoughts and I think good thoughts for you all day long. Tedi, Scott and Aaron’s family – though I haven’t met all of you, I send you my warmest regards and know that Clarkie has the best possible team behind him.
Just wanted to share a story about Aaron and how great he is with you – Tedi knows this one, but for those of you who don’t – Aaron and I knew each other in passing from my first season with the MRA in 2007, so in ‘08 when I began branching out to the AZ and UT series it took me by surprise when Clarkie took the initiative to post nice things about me on the forums when I wrote on the boards to introduce myself. To have someone I didn’t know very well look out for me and try to help my small business grow meant more to me than I can tell you. Not only did he post good things about my business, he supported my efforts by hooking up some friends out in AZ with sports massage when he wasn’t even there.
Clarkie’s the only racer who has traveled this year to all the venues I have, from AZ to UT to CO and NE…and it’s been good to see him and get to know him and Tedi and Scott. I’ll always remember his kindness and generosity and as someone who has never hesitated to put 1000% into everything I do, I look to him as an inspiration.
Thank you so much Aaron; I am wishing you a speedy recovery.

  19. Well I must say I was shocked to read the Northern Advocate here in Whangarei NZ and see that smiley face I remember so well from School. I will keep track of your progress Aaron. Hello there to Megan and Mrs Clark, stay nice and strong for him, and please pass on my regards to his wife.

Lots of Love from NZ, Cheryl

  20. Hi John and Raye.
Just wanted to let you know that we are thinking of you during this very trying time. Hukerenui/Maromaku ites are bred pretty tough, so I’m sure you will all pull through this in time! Take care, and all good wishes and positive vibes are sent your way.
    Cheers, Ennis and Dave Francis.

  21. Hey there… Cousin Karen here again. I’m glad to see the surgery seems to have gone well. I”ve been thinking about you all the whole day…

I haven’t seen Aaron for years, since we were kids really – and so it would be fair to say I don’t really know him at all – just what I remember from when he was terrorising Megan and I…lol…

…what I do know about Aaron though I have learned from this website and I have discovered that he is very loved, very respected and a downright awesome ‘kiwi’ bloke. The very fact that this website was created says enough and reading through the messages and comments makes me want to know him.

Kia kaha Aaron and big hugs to Aunty Raye, Uncle John, Megan and even though I don’t know you either, big hugs to Tedi and Scott. xx

keep on moving forward!!!!! your friend lee

  26. Just wanted to say “YAY” that the surgery went well and Clarkie is resting comfortably.

I check in on this website each day and am so happy to hear of the progress he is making.

    I love the updates!

  27. Hey Aaron, sorry to hear you’ve taken a bit of a knock. Huff sent me a link to the Northern Advocate article – you make front page news for THIS!?! Your rise to Whangarei fame should’ve been for all your achievements over the years on the race track..! Mate, I am sorry we lost touch over the years but I do visit your Mum’s cafe whenever I am home and catch up on your news with her. I am living in Oregon in the good ol’ US and A with wife and three kids. It’s a long way from those old days of Motocross in Whangas and having you take my bike to the track for me as I could not race Sunday mornings for ‘religious’ reasons… Looks like your lifelong generosity on and off the track has won you more than a few friends. Get well soon and our prayers are with you and your wonderful family. I am impressed with the friends you have made over the years – what a great, supportive bunch of people. The Yanks are pretty cool people, I married one and made a few more! God bless, Craig.

  40. aaron, it is great to see you finding your way through this. As i said in an earlier message, you are destined to be the king of this mountain as well.
You are in my thought every day, i have put a picture of you in a race as my computer wallpaper. Maybe you willl remember or maybe not, but i always remember you “scolding’ me at Gingerman back in 2001 about trying to ride my Mille like a Motocross bike. That little tip stays with me on the racetrack even now, almost 9 years later.

You are a great man Mr. Clark and everyone is pulling hard for you.

  45. Hi Aaron, Megan and Team

Great to hear that you all made it thru the past few days, I have been thinking of you all lots and checking regularly for the updates. I am not sure if you have been reading these messages out to Aaron or not Megan, (or others) but I assume over the weeks to come he will not be able to do much other than listen so figure the odd entry might help pass another long minute or two. Funny some of the memories you get when something like this happens. I keep remembering Aaron and Mark de Latour at yours and Susans 21st Megan, down on their knees singing with all their might, al-be-it after a few drinks. Recording material for sure :-) . Keep fighting, thinking of you loads. cuidate mucho.
