  1. Sue here – Aaron’s aunt in New Zealand. I would really like to give a big Hi 5 to the organisers and operators of this website. I have the page open all day at work and soon as I get home. I get soppy eyes when I read some of the comments and accolades. I especially like the map that shows what part of the world everyone is logging in from. Pretty incredible to see how far Aaron has managed to spread himself. Aaron – you are an incredible guy and that’s not just because you are my nephew. Tedi – I can’t begin to imagine what you are going through but please feel a tiny bit comforted in the fact that every minute of the day you and Aaron are in our thoughts. I will be keeping my fingers crossed that Aaron sleeps well without the tube tonight. Keep fighting Aaron. We all have faith in you!!

    All our love

Sue & Rob, Deb, Frazer & Hayden

  8. Hey there

As you will have gathered from Alex’s updates, our guy had a pretty rough day yesterday. As per Scott’s messages, Aaron struggled to breathe without the tubes due to swelling and constriction so they had to insert the tubes again after a few hours. It was pretty traumatic for him and with taking the tubes out and then putting them in again it was very painful so he is now back fully sedated so that he can recover.

He is also unfortunately back on the ventilator so that he doesn’t have to spend so much energy breathing on his own. It is also there as a safety precaution. Once he has recovered from yesterday we are confident that he will be strong enough again to take the ventilator off – just not sure when that will be.

The plan for tomorrow is that they are going to give him a tracheotomy. This will be a small insertion so that the tubes can then go in that way and free up his mouth and it will be so much more comfortable for him.

At this stage his pelvic operation is still scheduled for Monday.

Thanks again for all the support from you all out there. Keep the messages rolling in as they mean so much to Tedi, Scott and the Clark family.

Tedi and Scott are incredible, although they are even more exhausted after a drive through the night to Longmont to get some things and back again for the tube removal this morning. Send them all your positive energy as they really need it.

Tedi and Scott – a little note from me for you guys as I won’t see you til tomorrow night. The silver lining on this big black cloud is that it has been wonderful to get to know you both better, despite the reason for being here. I am honoured to have such incredible people like the two of you as part of my family. I understand with full clarity the love he has for you both.

As we say in New Zealand Maori “Kia Kaha” – Be Strong

    Meg

  9. Aaron – Keep fighting – we in Georgia are all pulling for you and sending energy your way.

  21. Aaron,
You have been great to watch this year. This is my first year racing. You are a great person and even better rider. You’re an inspiration to those of us that are just getting into the sport. I always looked forward to the RORo race to see you post yet another win. The thing that makes you who you are is you attitude. I have never met a champion that was not arrogant until you. That shows your professionalism.
I look forward to seeing you kick butt next year and many after. Thanks for inspiring me to keep with the sport.
Hang in bro and stay tough.

  22. Hi There,

  25. Aaron, Megan, Rae and family,

I met you all in my past life married to Danny Clark. My thoughts are with you, now and in the weeks and months to come. I spent 5 days at my stepson’s bedside in a neuro ward last year so understand the enormous amount of stress you’ll all be under. The human body is amazing though and I’m sure Aaron’s a fighter. If all the blogs I’ve read are anything to go by, the thoughts and wishes from so many fans to an exeptional nice guy, down to earth, humble kiwi will pull him through.

Take care of yourselves to stay strong for Aaron.
Best wishes from the Far North of NZ
    Catherine

  26. Aaron,
Hope you get to read this soon.
We are upset to learn that your race wheels have stopped for now and that the body has been slowed until it heals.
The great news is that you are recovering and have your family there to support you, plus all the frieds that you and Teddi have made over the years.
Really miss the times we had together in Oz, and am sending personal get better soon wishes. Sounds as if you will have plenty of time to figure out how to repair that bike when you get home again!
    Know that we care.
    Glen and Noelene.

  27. Hi Aaron, JC and Megan

We wish Aaron a speedy recovery.
Hope to meet you in New Zealand after all the photos, stories etc Barrie and Debbie

  28. Man, I hope and pray for a speedy recovery. Get well soon Clarkie!

  29. Hi All,
Sorry to hear the news, it came as a bit of a shock – but she’ll be right… Aaron you’re a tough bugger and made of good Northland stock, which will see you through! Our thoughts are with you all. Best wishes Colin Wickman & family xxx

  30. Aaron I know that you will fully recover from this and can’t wait for that to happen because the world is just a much better place with you in it. There are not many people that I connect with and you are one of them. You have become such a great friend and I can’t wait to see you.

Scott and Tedi, you two are a gem and I hate to think about how hard this must be for you. All three of you are such great people and soon it will be the three of you together again. My prayers go out to Aaron’s fast recovery and for you two to get through this the best you can.

    Ray

  31. I always loved this photo of Scott and Aaron from Firebird….You have to wonder what Aaron is saying to Scotty that is making him laugh so hard! :) Well a lot of it is about Aaron duct taping the transponder on the back of his bike (which CCS/SW doesn’t want people doing)….and then Scott throwing him under the Bus at the riders meeting by letting everyone know it was Aaron who did it…If I remember correctly Aaron threatened to bury Scott in a snowbank somewhere in Colorado…The entire riders meeting was laughing!

  32. We love you Clarkie, our best wishes go out to you, your a tough kiwi… You guys have a lot of support from us and people you’ve helped and inspired along the way.

  33. Aaron, we all miss you very much back at rocky mountain kawasaki! my thoughts are with you every day. Please come back to us. If i could will you the strength to do so i would, I know i’m trying!
    lee waldman

  34. I’m expecting to see a speedy recovery, Clarkie!! I look forward to you & Scottie talking S*** on the track again at Firebird……just keep calling him out on having traction control!! “CHEATER!!! He’s a cheater!!” Lots of love to you, Tedi, & (of course) my Scottie, from AZ.

  35. Hi,
I’m Raye (spelt with a ‘y’) and I’m Aaron’s mom (as we say in America)
I wondered if I might use this space now that I can breathe slightly, to thank some people that I have no way of contacting right now.
Firstly to Alex, whom we have not met yet, for setting up this wonderful site.I can’t wait for Aaron to wake up enough to read all the wonderful caring and funny messages on this blog. I know he will be as overwhelmed as we are.I must log on at least 6 times a day during my time in the waiting lounge – in between pacing the corridors and watching endless re-runs of ‘Everybody loves Raymond’.
A huge thanks to Kelly for setting up the on-line auction and for all those who have donated to it. You are all so generous.
Thanks to my sisters Marg & Sue and my dear friends Dale and Jackie, who are in daily contact with Ray. My nephews Frazer & Hayden, my nieces Debbie, Karen & Michelle, and my beautiful God-daughter Ginny, way down in Queenstown.
Danny – my 3rd child growing up on the farm,Cindy – thanks little one. Megan’s friend Susie, always part of our family, and Colin – ,every mother’s dream,.
Lesley and Murray and all the Donnelley family at the Parua Bay Tavern. Look after Ray, and put a wine in the fridge for me.
Catherine, Danny’s former wife. Many thanks, I remember you well.
To all the Dawson family also.
John and his family – these are trying times, but we are getting through it.
All my friends back home – you have been so supportive and it means so much.I’ll never again read of other families in this situation, and underestimate the power of this love and support.
About now I need to thank Aaron’s amazing racing family here in Colorado, who have come in night after night whether they can get to see Aaron or not. I can honestly say I’ve never been surrounded
by so many loving and caring people. I know now why Aaron doesn’t want to come home. It almost makes me want to move here myself – just kidding Aaron.
Glen and Josh. There are no words that are adequate to say to you.Without you 2 guys we would be sitting here with a totally different scenario which doesn’t bear thinking about. You both know how we feel. It’s too deep to put into words, except to say that we are indebted to you forever for Aaron’s life.
Brownie – you just crack me up. You should be on the stage.
    My gorgeous Tedi and Scott.
Tedi has cried bucketloads, but her inner strength and her deep love for my beautiful boy is an inspiration for me. We are on the day shift together, and sometimes look at each other and wonder how many tears a body can keep churning out.She keeps me going when times get tough – we have some laughs, and it’s been a privilege to get to know my daughter-in-law better. Aaron , you chose well. Couldn’t have picked a better one if I tried.
Scott. What a rock. He picks Tedi up and puts her back on her feet, while all the time he’s watching his best buddy struggling for life. He must be hurting so badly, but he just keeps going forward, getting things done, thinking with such clarity, and standing tall when all others around him are crumbling – such strength. And in his spare time he cracks us up with his life stories.
Ned, my angel. You are suffering so much being apart from you beautiful Megan, but you are clearly her strength.
For the upgrades to business class, we can’t thank you enough. We got on the plane in Auckland as wrecks, and arrived in San Franscisco as almost human again. Thank you so much for your generosity.
    My beautiful Megan.
Beautiful in body and soul, who sits here night after night on her own checking on her little brother. She gathers all the threads together and makes us better people. He love for her little bro is boundless and I am humbled by her on a daily basis.
last, but definitely not least, my darling Ray.Staying back, keeping the home fires burning (hope not, we have a cafe). Lifting my spirits with his dreadful black humour, keeping people updated running the cafe (please honey don’t hit the customers), and building fences as well -what a man! I draw daily on your strength
This is such a release to be able to do this, and to thank you all I hope I haven’t taken up to much space.
    Finally – my boy.
I’ve watched you struggle and fight with such courage. You always were a little scrapper, but usually with your acid wit, not your body. Keep fighting little man, Kia Kaha.

  36. Arron,
We have just heard today of your accident. Our thoughts are with you and your family. Even though we have not spoken in years we think of you often and have visited your website on occation to see what you were up too.

  39. Aaron,
Just heard about this site from JC(Dad) yesterday. What a fantastic tribute and testimont to and from your friends and family. We think of you daily and pray for your safe recovery. It doesn’t seem that long ago that you were flying around on a farmbike in Maromaku. Chris, Dayle and Tracey also send their love and support. Kia Kaha.

  40. This is Aaron’s other Kiwi Aunt! We have just returned from a week’s holiday
and are now online again, so we can keep up to date with Aaron’s progress.

Aaron, Alan and Simon and I are thinking of you all the time and send our love
to you in the hope that it will help you get better quicker! Tedi and Scott -
our thoughts are with you too. We have never met but have heard a lot about you
and know how important you are to Aaron.

Raye, Megs, and John – hang in there you guys. Just being there will be a
great help to Aaron and Tedi and Scott – we just wish we could be there to
support you. But Ray is being a wonderful wonderful support to us, and is
keeping us up to date with all progress.

Aaron- there is now a small group of golfers from around the North Island who
are following your progress and send their best wishes. Different sport, but
    same sense of dedication!

Hang in there, sweet nephew. We love you dearly.

Love from Marg and Alan and Simon – and Michele and Karen send their love as
    well.

  41. Hey Aaron

Did you ever imagine that you would be front age news on the Northern Advocate? (A life long ambition I am sure, he he). What a crazy world we live in when you make the front page of the local paper after such a shocking accident, instead of for all the amazing achievements you have had over the years. And that it is the first time in over ten years you hear from old school friends. Words don’t do justice to the emotions everyone must be feeling right now, however reading all the messages here I can see that you have some pretty amazing friends over there. Hope you recover quickly as knowing how you were, and most likely still are, you will want to be up and about as soon as you can. Take care, get better soon and maybe we will see you one day when you are next back in Whangarei. Thinking of you, Arwen.

  42. Hi: my name is sharon jensen, I am tedi and sccott’s mother, we have been reading all of the messages, that have been put up on the web site, a lot of very inspiring messages have been written.

we have known Aaron since 2000, I think, in that tiome frame, when tedi started bring him out to our house. He is a great guy, he has taken care of our daughter, he tries to keep her on the straight and narrow.

Last year they were at our house for christmas, and he called his mother to wish her a merry christmas and he was telling her, that they were outside playing in the snow, with the cold temperatures and she couldn’t believe we were out in it and not freezing to death.

so we have a lot of fun in the winter here in minnesota.

Another time scott, tedi and aaron were on big detroit lake in the winter, with our chevrolet van during wheelee on the frozen lake, and aaron was freaky out.

so we like him, he is a great guy, scott introduced them, we have been praying for him, he is a fighter and I have been telling him to keep on fighting.

I got a little carried away, so I will let someone talk.

    Dave and sharon

  43. Hang in there Aaron. You can beat this!

    Get well soon,

    Shawn Conrad

  44. Special message to Raye (my old flat mate), John (my old school mate) and Megan:

Back here in NZ there are many of your friends and neighbours hoping and praying for you and your boy. Thank you for keeping us up to date with this website and the newspaper articles.

Reading about Aaron brings back memories of Maromaku times – Calf Club, rugby/netball days, cross country, swimming – fun, happy times that our kids will remember forever. May good memories sustain you through this difficult time.

Please know that you are loved by so many back home.

My prayers are for Aaron to make a full recovery and for courage and faith for all his family. Extra hug and kisses for Raye – a true friend from yesteryear – Mum’s are so special!

    Love Gloria

  48. Although just a few of you know who we are, my wife and I had the privilege of meeting Aaron just a few short months ago. We stumbled onto the racing scene this past summer after meeting Shane Turpin at a Freddie Spencer Racing School.

One of our first weekends out at Miller was watching Aaron on his GSXR1000 and Shane on his expensive…….and underpowered 1098R in a hot race for the #1 plate. Call it a mid life crisis or whatever, I told my wife that I would like to sponsor Shane for the rest of the season…….and next year. She gave me her blessing. (she knew I would do it anyway).

The first thing was a Jordan GSXR1000 for Shane and before we got to the first race, a big bore motor, brakes and a few prayers that he was even going to be there on Sunday. Arron won the race and we where back in the garage changing this and figuring out that.

Even more parts for Shanes bike, the next race was a disaster for Aaron with a DNF putting Shane into the points lead. I know that Shane would have preferred a complete race. The next race was a win for Aaron after a crash by another rider ended the race early although Shane held onto the points lead by 2.

We where at Laguna for the last race of the year hoping for…….. Well lets just say that we ended up learning a lot. 1st and foremost go with “your own” plan and race. We did however have the opportunity to watch Scott Jensen race on Sunday with a ……well lets just say a painful disanvantage after having crashed earlier on. Aaron yelling at him not to race and Scott telling him I have to race.

The last race of the year at Miller was Aaron and Shane at their best with Aaron prevailing and taking the #1 plate. Joy for one and disappointment for the other but still great to watch.

This parts for you Aaron. Within a few hours of the crash, Shane called me with the news. Although the details where not complete one fact was sure. Aaron had hit the outside wall at high speed and it was not good. The “broken parts list” is to much to describe and almost to much to think about. I have logged on several time since and read all of the posts. Scott, keep up with the updates and to Aarons family, stay strong and by his side and hold his hand through this one. It’s the best type of therapy there is. Aaron, you have a lot of friends and admirers. I’m looking forward to the Aaron/Shane battle to resume next year.

God bless from Laurie and I.

  49. Aaron,

All our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We wish you a speedy recovery so you can get back to a normal life as soon as possible.

It is so nice to see all the responses here from the old Aprilia Cup days: Chappo, Dan Fischer, Pandya, Van-man, Derek King, Josh B and Eric Wood. At the very least this should put a smile on your face.

As you can see, you are in every one’s mind from all over the world.

    Our sincere blessings,

    Jay & Genviev
(formaly know as Mototek Aprilia) :)

  50. Hi

Aaron, just to let you know we are all thinking of you, Tony Rosie and the rest of the Noonans. Keep hangin in there dude, you can do it…
