I’ve been out of town all weekend and just got back. Man, what terrible news to come back to. My thoughts are with you and your family Clarkie. Godspeed Aaron.
Even though I know that you are aware that I have been there everyday/night, but I thought that I would give you something to read maybe.
It has been great getting to know both you and Teddi over the last 3 years, racing both the MRA and MoM series. We have done a lot of traveling, and riding together over those 3 years…. what somewhere around 300 days total? And you have been nothing but a helpful, good friend the entire time. You have tought me a lot, and I admire your skills, talents, and true character!!
You’re one tough cookie, so I know that you will fly right thru this little Chicane that has been thrown in your life, but just know that I am with you the entire way thru!!!
It’s awesome to hear the latest update! I just wanted to post another message to let you know that I’m still thinking about you and sending you so much healing energy. Focus on the positive and getting better!
Remember last winter when T and I went out with you, Scott, and Thor and we had to push T’s car out of the snow? I was looking forward to more shenanigans with you and Scott this winter. I guess I’ll just have to visit Colorado for it! I hope my BMW will be as capable as Tedi’s was! You know, if you wanted to start a tradition of alternating between Salt Lake and Denver each winter, all you had to do was *tell* me – you didn’t have to force the issue.
In all seriousness, it’s great to hear that you are improving. I know that Tedi and Scott are making sure you get great care. Everyone at MMP is pulling for you. We all love you and you are our champion. We don’t care that you live in CO – we consider you a dual citizen between Colorado and Utah.
OK, that’s enough smilies in this post. Like Kelly said, we’re looking forward to hearing your Kiwi accent here in SLC again soon.
Dude, we are missing you a lot right now….please get better, and let’s go ride those dirt bikes like we said we would eh? I know you are a soft Kiwi and all, but I think you have done pretty dame well with this one you tough bastard.
Get better Aaron. All of us in the Hendry family, my mom, dad, brother and my girlfriend wish you the best and send all of our love.
Hey Clarkie, I was so sad to learn of you crash. Davina and I hope the best for you. Hang on you are a great guy and very gifted rider. I hope you can bounce back from this and get well soon.
The news of your crash was so surreal after I’d just seen you the other day. I’m so happy to hear that you’re pushing through this and healing yourself. Don’t forget how many of us are out there praying for your speedy recovery to get you back on your feet and smiling! Get well soon, Aaron!
Clarkie,
I can’t believe it! You’ve just got to hang in there. Glad to hear the latest report, we’re praying for you and making sure Curtis keeps us ‘in the loop’.
Love ya, Donna
& Stan
I’ve not been racing much this season and so haven’t been able to hang out with you as often as I’d like. You’ve always been a great and generous friend, from racing and sponsor advice, to letting me borrow tools trackside, and driving my bike up to Fort Collins after mapping it. And how many people can say they’ve been loaned the #1 plate holder’s GSXR100 shock for their SV650?
There’s been so many times this summer that I’ve thought of you and meant to text or call, but never got around to it for whatever reason. Know that Lynn, Jack and I are sending you our best thoughts for a speedy recovery.
I was so very sorry to hear about your crash, but I know that your determination and competitive spirit, and even more importantly, the healing power of the love of your family and friends, will lead you to yet another victory – this time over any injuries or pain.
You and your family are continually in our prayers. I look forward to seeing you soon.
It’s so good to hear that your doing better! There are a lot of racers out there you dont even know (like me) that look up to you and admire you. Your an inspiration to us all Clarkie, get well soon!!
Aaron, Jodie York emailed me an article in Cycle News about your accident. I want you to know that you are in my thoughts.
Even though I have not met your wife, I want her to know that she is in my thoughts as well.
I am deeply touched by all the people who have signed your guestbook. You have an amazing network of friends, as well as family.
By knowing this, I know you will have the best care in and out of the hospital.
I hope and pray for a speedy recovery.
Jamie (Burton) Mehren
Clarkie, you don’t know me either, unless you remember everyone you’ve lapped at firebird in phx Anyway.. keep your mind strong, think/visualize of being back on the bike, racing in perfect condition, and it will come to pass. Have no doubts in your mind about returning to perfect working order.
Claikie,
I am so glad to hear of your recent improvments, I know it is just a matter of time until you are giving everyone around a good laugh. Thanks to Scott for the updated info! I just wanted to let you and Tedi know that everyone at MMI is thinking about you and wishing you a speedy recovery,
I love you guys and your in my thoughts all day long Tedi miss you and I wish I was there to give ya a hug and a kiss (just tell Scott to do it for me):)
Kelly is coming down to see you he’s leaving Wednesday I wish I could go…
Take care love you ALL!!
Keep digging brother. Tons of people have you and your family in their thoughts and prayers. There is power in people and by the number of forums that have you posted, you can move mountains. Heal up so you can keep the target moving.
Hey Aaron it’s your little cuz here sending lots of love and positive thoughts your way from NZ!! Hanging out for every text/phonecall from Uncle John and Megs with updates on your improvement day by day. What an amazing amount of support you have through this web page – it’s humbling and heart-warming to see how just how many people are behind you on your road to recovery. Here’s hoping you will be well enough soon to read all of these wonderful messages yourself!!
You are in everyones thoughts on this side of the world – we only wish we weren’t so far away. Much love to John, Raye, Megs, Tedi Scott and all of the other special people who are keeping you company at your bedside. Chrissy. xxx
Hey Aaron, it’s your other little cuz here all the way from NZ! It’s so great to hear of your improvements. Lots and lots of love to you, Tedi, John, Raye and all the wonderful people looking after you. You’re a stubborn bugger and we thank god for that!
Stay strong and know that we are thinking of you (wish you weren’t so far away!).
Love and big hugs Nicole, Kelvin, Mia & Dion xxx
Hey Aaron, Hey buddy i don’t know but i praying for you and your family! You guys must remember ther is nothing the Lord can’t handle and it is his will not our’s. So ask him for strength and mercy on your life, just as i have done for you.
Aaron,
Hang in there buddy. Your race buddies here in Sun Valley are pulling for you every day. Looking forward to seeing you kick butt once again. Every day is a new challenge we know you can handle. Kiwi’s rule.
Garth
Aaron,
This is chuck, I helped Josh with his bike in the Aprilia cup series in 2000, I have to say my friend those were some of the most fun times in my life, and as old as I am now that is saying something!! You are one of the toughest guys I know so hang in there and beat this. I wish all the best for you and your family, take care and get well, chuck.
Dude…
Its taken me 5 days to be able to get my thoughts together in some sort of coherent fashion to post to you. You have been in my thoughts since I heard the news Friday night. The Beer Fridge, you know all too well, got me thru the first night, but come morning I was reminded of a reality that has stifled me since. It pains me to see my friend all wadded up.
You know all to well that I deal with life in humor and humility. I remeber when we meet and it was freindship instantly. I felt like I have know you since childhood. I atributed that to the fact we a lot a like; both grumpy types who didn’t care what anyone thinks about us…because “that’s how we ride”…clearly judging by all the posts here you have them all fooled…joking aside, it is heart warming to see the massive amounts of people you have touched.
So many people need you back! Tedi & Scott need thier husband and friend back. The race community needs you back. I have witnessed this in our pit every weekend…who will tell them what knobs & screws to turn and what maps to run.
I need you back. Without you who will I pit with? After 3 years of pitting with you, I still have no idea what to set my tire pressures at…I need you there to tell me. Without you I’ll have Scott picking solely on me about my dirt race bikes. Without you I am not sure what I’ll do when I put shop towels where there not suppose to be!! And most important I need you back to make me lol with your text messages.
So buddy…you really need to stop F*%#ing around and get better!!! I know your stubborness and drive will pull you through this. I love man and my thoughts are with you…See you soon!!!
Clarkie, Hang in there! Wish I could be there with you asking all my dumb questions. I know! You are probably sick of all my questions by now…. But you are always there to listen to me and I truly appreciate that. Anyways, I can’t stop thinking about you. Stay strong! I will come visit you soon!
Hey Aaron,
Hang in there man we know your a fighter and will win the race, just sorry to see you down. Scott, Tedi and family, hang in there because I know Aaron will be back to his old self before you know it. I look forward to coming for a visit once he wakes up and sharing a few laughs. My donation will be on it’s way before long. you guys just rest assured that we all love you guys and our hearts go out for you during this difficult time.
All the best always,

I’m Aaron’s sister, Megan, and I just thought I’d say hi. I’ve just finished the Clarkie Night Shift and we’ve had a good night. He’s now been exactly 24 hours breathing unassisted by the ventilator – go Aaron! That’s the fighting spirit of my little bro, that’s for sure.
I’d like to take the cahnce to say a huge thank you from me and my parents, who are both here as well (and about to check to Clarkie Day Shift).
We have been totally overwhelmed by the love, support and kindness from his many beautiful and caring friends here in the US. Unfortunately with living on the other side of the globe we don’t get to meet a lot of the people who have come into his life, apart from the AMAZING Tedi and Scott (sorry Scooter, I couldn’t resist using your favourite new word).
Since we arrived on Sunday night we have met the most incredible bunch of people and I realise how lucky Aaron is to have such a cool group of friends. Brownie, Josh, Glenn, Shannon, Seagren, Kristy and Dave – you guys are very special not only to Aaron but now to the Kiwi Clark’s as well.
Thanks as well to our family and friends in NZ and Australia for your messages on this site and your constant texts – they really are keeping us going at the moment.
Aaron,
Heard from Thor about what happened to you on Friday. We’ve only meet a few times at Miller when you’ve been hanging out with Thor and Holly in the garage but I’ve enjoyed getting to know you and Teri. Brie and I are pulling for you and know that we’ll see you back in the pits next Spring. Hang in there!
Aaron, Tedi & Scott,
Thinking of you here in NH and keeping you in our prayers. Haven’t e-mailed in a while, but you’re usually right there when I fire up the RSV.
Crikey. I’m beginning to think this is a ploy to throw the young up & coming competition off course so you can come back stronger. (Or you just like hospital food!) Total yourself out riding a dirt bike & proceed to take a National title. Snap your back and win multiples in LRRS, MoM & MRA. Rack yourself into a wall . . . the competition better watch out next year!
Dig deep man. Get well and come back stronger than before!
I haven’t seen you since you left NH but I’ve been following your racing. Get better soon and keep fighting. I’ll be checking back here for more good news each day.
Aaron, Tedi and Scott – you define racing and the racing community. As such, Aaron, I know your going to win this one, and as we have already seen, Tedi and Scott will lead the rest of us in supporting you all the way.
