Update 1st Dec

I can’t believe that it’s suddenly December and only 24 days to Christmas…who knows where November and half of Oct went…

We had a pretty event filled day today.  Aaron has had his MRSA infection (and the reason why we have had to be gowned, gloved and masked for four weeks) deemed ‘colonised’.  This means that he still has the   it is no longer contagious.  Such great news for him.

The other big thing that happened is that Aaron passed a ’swallow test’.  This sounds pretty innocuous however the inability to swallow has meant that he has been unable to drink and eat normally and is feed through a feeding tube directly into his stomach.  He absolutely hates this.  So today as part of the test they gave him some liquids to swallow which was successful.  This is the first time he has been able to do this since his accident.  It makes you realise how great it is to chew on your favourite steak/fish/chicken dish and enjoy it as Aaron hasn’t been able to do this for over 7 weeks.  Huge day!

That’s all for today

I bet it feels good to be able to swallow. You have made such progress over the past couple weeks and I can’t wait to see you again when that time arrives. Keep working hard!
