Update Saturday 15 Nov 12pm
Not much has changed with Aaron’s condition the past couple of days. Still
experiencing the typical TBI mood swings – sometimes he is confused and
angry, other times he extremely paranoid and delusional. But for the
majority he has been in a better mood and seems pretty lucid. His sister,
Megan, arrived last night and Aaron was very happy to see her.
Memory is a very interesting thing. Aaron can remember certain events and
names, but can’t figure out the linear connection between them. So,
everything ends up a bit scrambled.
As you know, Aaron broke his iliac bone and will require months of
physical therapy. The iliac bone surgery requires a three month non-weight
bearing recovery, then he can start the process of relearning how to walk.
Currently, physical therapy concentrates on arm and leg exercises while
sitting in the wheelchair or laying in bed.
Scott Macau update: The GP was held Saturday morning (aka: last night for
us in the states). He was running in 10th position when another rider
crashed into him. He didn’t go down, but ended up running off the track
and re-entering the race in 26th position. He worked his way back up to
finish in 16th position.
Take care – Tedi
