Clarkie Night Watch Mon Oct 20

Clarkie Night Watch Mon Oct 20

Hey Team Today is The Big Day.  We have surgery booked for 1pm and it is expected to take around 5 hours…although we are half expecting it to be more based on another opinion. Aaron’s had an ok night…he has been a bit uncomfortable and just wouldn’t settle after they bathed and turned him around [...]

Status Update Sun 5pm

Status Update Sun 5pm

I’ve received an update from Scott, Clarkie is off all the sedatives today, though he’s still on pain meds of course. He is off the respirator completely, they are just feeding some oxygen to the trach tube to make breathing easier. The best part is that Aaron seems to be quite alert, and I’m anxious [...]

Team Clarkie Night Watch 19th Oct

Team Clarkie Night Watch 19th Oct

Hey everyone We’ve had a pretty good night here and Aaron slept well during the night and is still breathing well.  We haven’t had the results of the ultrasound as yet but they should be through by the time Tedi & Scott are here later this morning so we hope to have an update on [...]

Message from Aaron’s Mom

Raye Clark, Aaron’s mom, has left a very moving message in the guestbook and I wanted to make sure everyone got to see it. Thanks so much for writing, Raye, and I hope to get to meet you soon. Hi, I’m Raye (spelt with a ‘y’) and I’m Aaron’s mom (as we say in America) [...]

Status Update Sat 2pm

Scott reports that Clarkie has been breathing through the trach tube on his own (no respirator) since 10AM. The staph infection is getting better, but he still has a high fever. Tonight at 6pm the doctors are going to do an ultrasound to check his gall bladder, there is suspicion that it may be infected [...]

Status Update Fri 4pm

Scott sent me an update to share with you all. Just past noon today the doctors performed a tracheotomy to allow the breathing tubes to be removed from Clarkie’s mouth. He’s still on sedatives, but this should make him feel more comfortable. He seems calm, is resting well, and his temperature is still high but [...]

Megan Update Fri 5AM

Megan has posted a very detailed update in the Guestbook, I’m sharing it below for everyone to easily read. Also, I’ve created an account here for Megan so she can provide her own updates to the main page here. Hey there As you will have gathered from Alex’s updates, our guy had a pretty rough [...]

No visits until after Monday

More info from Scott, apparently there has been a change in the viewing schedule for friends, and no one will be allowed to visit until after Monday. Clarkie is back on the respirator after a difficult day and needs plenty of rest before the surgery scheduled on Monday for his pelvis/hip. Please understand that this [...]

Aaron needs his rest

Scott has asked me to post letting everyone know that Aaron has had a rough day and won’t be seeing any visitors tonight or tomorrow, he’s really needing his rest right now. Scott is hoping people check the site here so that they don’t drive all way to the hospital and then not be able [...]

Status Update Thurs 4pm

Scott says that unfortunately removing the respirator tube from Clarkie’s throat has not turned out so well. His airways started constricting and the doctors are going to put the tube back in. While this is disappointing, apparently it is something that sometimes happens and the doctors had warned the family about ahead of time.
