Update Sunday Oct 26 6pm

Scott has let me know that Aaron’s vitals have stabilized, and they have him on wide spectrum antibiotics until his blood cultures come back. This could take a couple days, which means he’ll be in the ICU until the infection seems under control. Apparently he’s pretty restless still, he keeps pulling his feeding tube out. [...]

Update Sunday Oct 26 8am

Unfortunately Aaron has been moved back to the ICU this morning with some respiratory issues. The doctors are running tests now to see what is wrong. I’ll post more updates as soon as I get them from Scott.

Update Saturday Oct 25th 4pm

Scott reports that they have moved Clarkie up to rehab, and he’s now out of the ICU! This is a good step for him, though he’s still got a long way to go. The rehab room is a shared room, a little less privacy and no waiting room, so I think this is a little harder [...]

Update Saturday Oct 25 11am

Scott sent me a brief update a couple hours ago, and I’m just now getting to post after being out of the house for awhile. Clarkie seems stable today, though he is still pretty agitated, probably from the all the commotion today. His temperature is good and heart rate seems ok.
The good news is that [...]

Update Friday Oct 24 9pm

I just got a few text messages from Scott with an update on Aaron’s condition. Unfortunately, he failed today’s swallow test, which means that the doctors won’t be able to put a valve in his trach to enable him to talk. They also found a new infection in his lungs.
The good news [...]

Clarkie Update Fri 23rd Oct

Morning
Aaron had a very full-on day yesterday as they got him into a chair for some muscle/ coordination work.  He really didn’t like it at all as it was the first time out of the bed and pretty scary having people poke and prod him around like that.  But it has to be done…
He’s also [...]

Update Thursday Oct 23 3pm

Scott has let me know that the MRI results are back, and things look good. There is some soft-tissue damage to Aaron’s neck muscles but this is of no real concern. They are leaving the neck brace on for now to aid in the healing of the muscles.
The doctors did not detect any new [...]

Clarkie Night Watch Post

Hi there
Well, not a huge amount to report from the night, which is nothing but a good thing.  Clarkie has been sleeping a lot which, although it means he not such great company, it does mean he’s a bit more comfortable and settled, and that’s great.  Hopefully he’s over the worst of the pain from the pelvic [...]
