Clarkie Update
Hi Team
First of all, to all the NZ’ers who have come through to this site after reading in the newspapers, thank you. Take a chance to read through some of the messages on this site – you will be amazed by Aaron, his friends and his racing career. If you would like to make a donation to the Aaron Clark Trust (I know there have been so many of you who have been trying to give) we finally have the Trust set up and the link on on the right hand side of the Home Page will give you all the details. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you for your kindness as we just can’t do this alone.
Aaron’s had a rough day on top of his already hard night last night. He is really agitated still and getting quite distressed. We’re working on getting the mix right on his pain meds to keep him a bit more comfortable. Unfortunately with brain injuries this is apparently part of what they Aaron will go through.
We have had advice as well that he may be being over stimulated so it’s time now for us (even family) to pull back and keep it pretty quiet in his room. So we’re not looking at any visits for some time yet but we’ll let you know when he’s ready.
Thanks Cindy, Sonia, Jacque and Alan Whatmough for your messages that only came through to us today. It’s so lovely to hear from you.
Sadly I am booked on a flight back to NZ tomorrow, just for two weeks to get on top of things with my business which is in full flight leading up to our busy summer event season. My team have been holding the fort (what you guys have dealt with while I have been away is just incredible – thank you so, so much) and I now just need to give them some support before I come back. I’m so upset about leaving but I know he’s in safe hands with the rest of the ‘pit crew’.
I fly back into Colorado on the 7th Nov, so thankfully it is only 2 weeks away. Mum and Dad are remaining here with Aaron, Tedi & Scott.
Dad has asked me on behalf of him to thank everyone for everything – and we mean everything – that all of you wonderful, kind and giving people have done. You blow our minds with your generosity and love. He’s not too great with blogs but I’ll try and teach him
I’ll leave you with a couple of great photos. The first is one that Dad took when it snowed here – “Go Clarkie”. The second is Aaron coming across the line to win the Utah King of the Mountain. Watch him go!
Love to you all and I will keep updating you as much as I can from NZ over the next couple of weeks so keep checking back.
Meg x
