Clarkie Update Fri 23rd Oct
Morning
Aaron had a very full-on day yesterday as they got him into a chair for some muscle/ coordination work. He really didn’t like it at all as it was the first time out of the bed and pretty scary having people poke and prod him around like that. But it has to be done…
He’s also shown his feisty side over night. He’s decided that he’s over it all and so pretty much pulled out anything he could get his hands on…fighting spirit but not in a very good way! He’s back sleeping now but he’s had a rough night.
The good thing from the last day though is that he is back to being very responsive and is communicating quite well again since the op, which is a big relief. They are going to try to see if has can manage swallowing today which is the first step to getting the throat muscles working again.
To the Kiwis out there, look out for a follow up article in the Herald on Sunday this weekend!
Thanks
Megan

He’s a fiesty bugger, that’s for sure. I think we should take that as another positive sign of improvement! =)
