Megan Update Fri 5AM
Megan has posted a very detailed update in the Guestbook, I’m sharing it below for everyone to easily read. Also, I’ve created an account here for Megan so she can provide her own updates to the main page here.
Hey there
As you will have gathered from Alex’s updates, our guy had a pretty rough day yesterday. As per Scott’s messages, Aaron struggled to breathe without the tubes due to swelling and constriction so they had to insert the tubes again after a few hours. It was pretty traumatic for him and with taking the tubes out and then putting them in again it was very painful so he is now back fully sedated so that he can recover.
He is also unfortunately back on the ventilator so that he doesn’t have to spend so much energy breathing on his own. It is also there as a safety precaution. Once he has recovered from yesterday we are confident that he will be strong enough again to take the ventilator off – just not sure when that will be.
The plan for tomorrow is that they are going to give him a tracheotomy. This will be a small insertion so that the tubes can then go in that way and free up his mouth and it will be so much more comfortable for him.
At this stage his pelvic operation is still scheduled for Monday.
Thanks again for all the support from you all out there. Keep the messages rolling in as they mean so much to Tedi, Scott and the Clark family.
Tedi and Scott are incredible, although they are even more exhausted after a drive through the night to Longmont to get some things and back again for the tube removal this morning. Send them all your positive energy as they really need it.
Tedi and Scott – a little note from me for you guys as I won’t see you til tomorrow night. The silver lining on this big black cloud is that it has been wonderful to get to know you both better, despite the reason for being here. I am honoured to have such incredible people like the two of you as part of my family. I understand with full clarity the love he has for you both.
As we say in New Zealand Maori “Kia Kaha” – Be Strong
Meg
